Will Safari work well to treat Holly Gall or Witches' Broom on East Palatka Holly?

Answer:

Safari 20SG Systemic Insecticide with Dinotefuran is not labeled for witches' broom, and unfortunately, fungicides can't cure the plant or prevent new infections. Pruning out witches' brooms will reduce the symptoms of the disease only for a short time. These clusters are actually caused by stress that is brought on by insects like the Eriophyid Mite, aphids, etc or fungi, viruses, and diseases.

Using a general purpose insecticide like Talstar P Insecticide and a fungicide such as Clearys 3336F for both curative and preventative applications is suggested.
