Will Talstar help to stop TPPD (Texas Phoenix Palm Decline)?

Palm trees are dying in Florida from TPPD. Will Talstar help to stop the insect? At present our palm is fine and I was wondering if ground application around the base would help deter the insect without harming the palm.

Answer:

Talstar P is not labeled to treat TPPD. We recommend that you consult with your local cooperative extension office for recommendations on what would be appropriate to apply.  You can also find a great article here that might help.
