Will Talstar PL Granules work to kill Crane Fly larvae? I would like to treat my lawn this month (November).

Answer:

Yes, Talstar PL Granular Insecticide are labeled for crane flies. According to the product label, it should be used early to mid-season to control the larvae of crane flies. This application should be made between August-February during times when the ground is not frozen as they feed on plant crowns. If treatments are made in March-April, they may only provide suppression.  Consult your local extension agent for specific recommendations for your area.
