Will Tempo kill a rose chafer? Does this product work directly to insects or do they have to ingest the leaves?

I have these beetles that appear to be an infestation. When I look them up on the internet, they appear to look like a rose chafer beetle. A flowered shrub was littered with them and now they are moving to a newly planted river birch and are eating up the foliage. I applied Tempo already and let dry, it has since rained, but the beetles keep coming in swarms. How often can I apply this product. It works great, but the beetles just keep coming, I don't want to over spray and kill my new tree.

Answer:

Tempo should not hurt the bush at all and is commonly used on turf and ornamentals.  You can spray the tree/shrub as often as needed.  The Tempo does not kill the bugs when they ingest the leaves, it just kills them by touch and when the beetles land on a leaf they pick up the product on their bodies.  The plant should not absorb the product due to the waxy coating on the leaves.
