Will The Anderson's HCU 44 - 0 - 0 Humic Coated Urea release N at lower soil temperatures?

Can this product be applied as a granular late-season fertilizer to encourage root growth? Is it effective at lower soil temperatures of around 45-50°F?

The Andersons HCU 44-0-0 Humic Coated Urea would not be applied in the fall for a few different reasons. If you are looking for root development and a fertilizer that promotes that growth, you would need a fertilizer with a much lower Nitrogen content and a higher percentage of phosphorus (the middle number of the 3). You also do not want to apply that high of nitrogen levels late in the season as too much Nitrogen late in the year can create disease issues such as dollar spot the following spring.
