Arlene from Tampa, Fl writes

Will the Bayer Advanced Tree & Shrub Insect Control save my large Gardenia bush? Is it safe in the hot Florida climate. Is it safe around cats?

The bush is too large to spray. My large gardenia bush is covered in sooty mold. I think it has scales.

Answer:

Bayer Advanced 12 Month Tree & Shrub Insect Control Landscape can be used on shrubs for controlling listed insects such as aphids, scale, etc. We are not sure the condition of the shrub to let you know if it can be saved or not. It is safe if applied when the cats are not present until dry if used as directed. We recommend treating late in the evening or early in the morning.
