Is this appropriate for rats? I would prefer not to reset a trap after each trap since in California it's illegal to release live rats, so we will need to drown them. Ugh. Not what I want to do, but these rats are smarter than my traps and I prefer not to poison since my beagle has eaten dead rats in the past who we poisoned. Ended up costing me 10x's my yearly pest service. They seem to be increasing in numbers rapidly in our neighborhood and only a handful of neighbors are aware and actually setting snap traps. The rest of them "don't have rats".
