Dianne from Bancroft, Wisconsin writes

Will using Zylam Liquid Systemic Insecticide on a cherry tree hurt birds who eat the fruit?

Answer:

Neither the label nor the SDS for Zylam Liquid Systemic Insecticide mention bird/avian toxicity. The active ingredient is diluted enough to hurt insects but birds or mammals would have to ingest a lot of product. Potential risk will also depend on the health of the animal. Zylam Liquid Systemic Insecticide is not labeled for fruit trees, so we do not recommend using this on a fruiting cherry tree.
