We live in an area where multiple deer graze on our grass daily and hunters hunt and then eat this meat. Is Prodiamine harmful to the deer and then what is the impact on the meat that will be consumed by humans?
Prodiamine 65 WDG (Generic Barricade) would not be recommended for use in assigned pastures or grazeland where animals are intended to graze or in specifically planted food plot areas.
If applying to your residential lawn in which wildlife such as deer do occasionally graze, you are recommended to use a sufficient amount of water to carry the active ingredient into the soil to start working as soon as possible but also, to help protect pets and wildlife from potential exposure.
Prodiamine 65 WDG (Generic Barricade) is applied at 0.185-0.55 oz (1.1 tsp-3.3 tsp) per 1,000 sq ft, this is usually mixed at 1 to 2 gallons of water. If a light rain is not expected within 7 days of the application, water the area with 1/4 to 1/2 inch of irrigation to ensure the seeds are contacted. Do not mow 2 days before or 2 days after the application.
