2,4 - D Amine Herbicide is labeled to be used on pasture and rangeland. It would be best to keep animals out for at least 24 hours after applying.
2,4 - D Amine Herbicide does list on the product label that it can be used on ornamental turf including residential lawns.
2,4 - D Amine Herbicide will have a shelf life of 3-5 years if stored properly in a temperature stable environment (between 45 and 75 degrees) and out of direct sunlight.
The rates for 2,4 - D Amine Herbicide vary based on weeds targeted and also areas being used. For use in ornamental turfgrass such as home lawns, use 2 pints per Acre for annual broadleaf weeds, and 2 – 3.15 pints per Acre for biennial and perennial weeds. So the 2.5 gallons would treat 6 – 10 Acres. Please read over the label for complete application instructions.
The application rate for 2,4 - D Amine Herbicide on pastures is 1 -2 quarts (32 - 64 oz) per Acre, depending on the weeds you are targeting. How much product you put into your 40 gallon tank will depend on how much area you cover with that tank. For example, if you use 40 gallons to cover 3 Acres, then you would add 3-6 quarts of 2,4-D. However, if you use 40 gallons to treat 1 Acre, then you would only use 1-2 quarts. Please refer to the product label for complete application instructions.
Per the 2,4 - D Amine Herbicide product label for annual broadleaf weeds in pastures you would use 1 quart per acre. For biennial and perennieal weeds you would use 1-2 quarts per acre. The amount of water is not set and is however much water it takes you to cover the acre but usually 100 gallons per the label.
For spot treatments of broadleaf weeds and brush with 2,4 - D Amine Herbicide, apply 6 fl oz in 3 gallons of water, mixing thoroughly and spraying weeds to the point of run off. View more information on page 13 of the product label here.
2,4 - D Amine Herbicide states on the product label for Turf: You would use 2 pints per acre for annual broadleaf weeds or 2 to 3.15 pints for biennieal and perennial weeds. The amount of water is a minimum of 5 gallons of water per acre for ground applications. There is not a smaller rate given as this is usually mixed in large batches.
Hi-Yield 2,4-D Amine No. 4 Selective Weed Killer would be a better option for residential lawns and the rate is much easier to understand: Use 0.75 to 1.16 fl. oz. of product (0.022-0.034 lb ae) per 1,000 sq. ft. per application for control of annual broadleaf weeds. Use 1.16 fl. oz. of product (0.034 lb ae) per 1,000 sq. ft per application for control of biennial and perennial broadleaf weeds.
2,4-D Amine Herbicide will not control kudzu. Crossbow is a great product to use for Kudzu.
2,4-D Amine Herbicide is only labeled for broadleaf weeds and will not control crabgrass or other grassy weeds.

2,4 - D Amine Herbicide is labeled to kill clover so we would not recommend using that to kill weeds in your your situation. For broadleaf weed control in your food plot we would recommend carefully using a non selective product such as Avenger Weed Killer Concentrate.
You would still follow the labeled rates per 1000 sq ft listed for 2,4 - D Amine Herbicide. You will need to calibrate the sprayer to determine how much water you need to cover 1000 sq ft at the 6 mph, 30 psi at 7.9 gpa.
2,4 - D Amine Herbicide is not labeled to be used on residential lawns so would not be recommended, it is more for agricultural/commercial areas. The Hi-Yield 2,4-D Anime would be for residential lawns with the same active ingredient
All products including 2,4 - D Amine Herbicide should always be mixed as advised on the product labels. Doubling the rate or overmixing herbicides is off label use and often will do the opposite and not kill the weeds at all. Always follow the product label instructions as the label is the law.
For Poison Ivy, Bonide Poison Ivy and Brush Killer BK-32 Concentrate would be a good option for killing/controlling poison ivy.

2,4-D Amine Herbicide is a concentrated herbicide for weed control in and around corn, sorghum, soybeans, small grains, rice, sugarcane, fallow land, grasses, stone fruits and nut orchards, brush control, pastures, rangelands, forest management and in non-crop areas such as lawns and ornamental turf, fence rows, and rights-of-way.
For spot treatments in non cropland areas to control broadleaf weeds or brush, apply 6 fl oz per 3 gallons of water mixing thoroughly. Spray weeds to the point of run off.

The 2,4 - D Amine Herbicide product label does not state that bahiagrass is tolerant, so we cannot recommend that you use it on this grass species.
