Crabgrass and Japanese stiltgrass browning on 5th or 6th day ... other desirable grass is fine and unharmed - this stuff is awesome even - used 1oz per gallon mix in pump sprayer. Will continue to use as needed.

Like others here. I use Acclaim Extra with Turflon Ester to control Bermuda grass in our tall fescue lawn. You have to hit it right when the Bermuda first comes up for the season, usually around mid May here in NC. Then hit it again every 30 days. You also need to stay on it for 3 or 4 seasons. I made the mistake of declaring victory after the first season. It slowly came back.

Used a mix of Acclaim, triclopyr ester and surfactant on my zoysia lawn to try and kill some common and hybrid bermudagrass. First application turned the common bermudagrass brown. Effect on the hybrid bermudagrass was much less, but golf course testing suggests that 5 treatments one season, followed by 3 the next season will be required for full control. Seems to slow the growth of the zoysia a bit, but no ill effects. Expensive, but a little goes a long way and this seems to be the best product for my application.

I got the Japanese stilt grass under control. You have to be patient. It takes time to work. Also works great on crabgrass.

I purchased this for Japanese stiltgrass spreading quickly through my cool season grass. I applied with a non-ionic surfactant at the maximum dose rate with a tank spot sprayer. It took about 2 weeks for the stiltgrass to brown and die. I also spot sprayed some crabgrass which also died in about the same time frame.

it isn't fast, but after 7-10 days the progress was showing. 2 weeks from application and all stilt grass was dying but no other grass! perfect.

I've been spraying invasive stilt grass in a forest for more than a year with Roundup and it kills not only the stilt grass but everything else. I stumbled upon this, which only kills grasses and not the woody plants. So far it looks like it is killing off only the bad stuff and I'm thrilled about that. I hated the destruction Roundup left. Bayer's customer support was really helpful too in determining that I could use it in my forest and how much to use.

I had a pretty bad case of Japanese Stiltgrass taking over my lawn. Acclaim Extra smoked it! It's all gone. Took about 2 weeks to start working but it definitely got rid of it.

Wish there was something more affordable but with Japanese Silt grass this may be the only thing that works without destroying your yard with Glyphosate.

I applied this trying to control crabgrass and Japanese stiltgrass that was invading my yard. Everything I've purchased at Lowe's wouldn't kill either plant. I applied it with a 4 gallon pump sprayer as directed onto a dry yard with a surfactant and a blue dye to mark the area sprayed. This did a fantastic job in killing the crabgrass with a single application. I slightly over sprayed a few feet of my neighbors yard which was almost 100% crabgrass and it killed every bit of the crabgrass. It took about a week for the crabgrass to really look like it was going to die. The Japanese stiltgrass took two applications as the first application seemed like it only wounded it. I will purchase it again when I need more.

I have tried many herbicides that I have had good luck with in the past on all types of weeds but nothing works like Acclaim Extra on Japanese Stiltgrass. One application at 8oz per 25 gallon tank sprayer across 1 acre and 2 weeks later the stuff in turning brown.

used along with Non-Ionic Surfactant for Herbicides on zoysia and fescue mix on waited two weeks. Worked as promoted. I would recommend using dye to see what has been treated.

The Poconos in Pennsylvania is overrun with the extremely invasive Japanese stilt grass. You don't want to use Round Up because that kills everything. I'm successfully using this combination of Acclaim, surfactant and dye to little by little eliminate the stilt grass without hurting any of my native plants. I'm so glad they developed something target specific.

Lawn was more than half stiltgrass early August. It was everywhere. Very discouraged. Applied this product as directed, with surfactant and dye. Was careful to make sure I got off of them coated, applied on a windless day. Took about a week for them to show signs of stress, maybe 3 weeks for all of them to die. The dead stiltgrass left a very thick, woody growth behind which I was able to mostly rake out. Not sure this step was needed, but it was ugly, and everywhere. Over seeded last week in August, and now it's the first week of September and there is virtually no living stiltgrass in the lawn, and the new shoots are filling in. This product is very expensive, but I don't think there's an alternative other than pulling them all out manually. This is a crazy invasive. Didn't realize what it was until way too late. I think it's been in my lawn for years. Hopefully, a pre emergent next spring will keep the seed bank down.

Used this to get rid of Japanese Stiltgrass. Hard to get many common weed killers in my state but more than happy with this product. Mixed in some dye and surfactant and shook it up very well. Reading the label it says you can even seed a a few cool season grasses right after spraying. Wish I tried getting rid of the Japanese stiltgrass before it spread as much as it did but here we are. Planning on a pre emergent in early spring.

Did a great job on killing off the Japanese Stiltgrass that was slowly taking over my yard the past few years. Wish I got ahead of it sooner. Mixed it with some dye and surfactant. It is slightly harder to mix up than something like 24D so I used an old 1 gallon liquid fertilizer bottle to pre shake it up.

Our neighborhood is being overrun by Stlitgrass. It looks pretty but it outcompetes everything else in shady environments. This is the only product I know that selectively removes Stlitgrass from lawns, and it works very well. It also works on some other tuff weeds and on crabgrass and goosegrass.

This has been ideal for "doing my own" - the Acclaim has been excellent at controlling Japanese stiltgrass, while I wouldn't have thought to purchase the dye or the surfactant if it hadn't been suggested. I'm now using the dye with other products and it's incredibly helpful. Came neatly packaged in one box.

This stuff is effective. It takes a few days to start to see a difference and a couple applications, but it does work. It’s the only stuff I saw that will kill Johnson grass without harming tall fescue lawn. Worth the high price and you don’t need that much per application.

Purchased the Acclaim Extra with surfactant and marker dye. Very happy with the products. Primarily I sprayed a bunch of Japanese stiltgrass around my wood line but also a little bit of goose grass in the lawn. Product worked quicker on the goose grass and took a long time on the stiltgrass. After about two and a half weeks I began to notice the stiltgrass being affected. Very nice to have all three products I needed to knock this out. Arrived quite quickly after I placed the order (In a single box which was nice) and I had a tracking code as well. I will likely be making the same order again next year.

Acclaim does not provide instant gratification, but after 2-3 weeks of wondering whether it was going to work, the weeds are giving up.

This product works great to suppress Bermuda grass in my tall fescue lawn. I mix it with turflon ester, herbicide helper surfactant, and colorant. This is the third year of applications and I have seen quite a reduction in Bermuda grass, as well as immediate short term suppression after each application of which I make 3 or 4 during the growing season. DoMyOwnpestControl.com has the best price on this item I have found. I see a review that it did not work well in crabgrass and found the following information helpful for that issue. “For killing crabgrass well after it has germinated (e.g., Acclaim Extra), but they are effective only at killing young crabgrass plants. Because these young crabgrass plants are small, they are very difficult to detect in a lawn rendering post emergent herbicides far less useful than pre emergent herbicides for killing crabgrass (Beaulieu, 2011). This is GREAT stuff. Only thing I could fiind to kill crabgrass.....which is always a pain in the late turf growing season. This is the only place I could find this product sold in pints. It's spendy....but it works. Thanks

I tried other selective herbicides, adding surfactant, but only Acclaim got rid of most of the Japanese Stiltgrass invading my lawn. Only drawback is its price!! After doing some research, it seems this product is about all that really works for lawns to control this specific weed.

Thanks to Acclaim! Roundup, which kills everything, was the only solution to rid Stiltgrass from my lawn. Two applications of Acclaim Extra Selective from a tank sprayer mixed with Adept surfactant are all that was needed
