Wood ant

Sometimes they like it, sometimes they don't
By Alan on 06/23/2012
At times, the carpenter ants really go for the bait. At other times, they walk right over it in search of something else. I also have liquid ant bait in stations around the area. They seem to change which they prefer from time to time. But I am also competing with many other natural food sources, such as aphid residue in the tree canopy, etc. Other species of ants, small slow moving brown ones, can't seem to get enough it and drag it back down into their ant holes endlessly.

Ant Bait.

Wow
By Bill on 05/02/2016
I bought the plastic trays to put this bait in and placed it in several strategic locations in my kitchen. I got absolutely no response. However after I added the carpenter ant bait gel, the trays were full of ants and empty of bait within a couple of hours. I had no idea there were that many ants in my house. I refilled the trays and watched as about half of the bait disappeared over the next two days. A little over a week out and I am finding an occasional emaciated ant but most are GONE. I would have given 5 stars except for static electricity between the plastic tray and granules caused a huge mess.
Seemed to work fairly well
By Fred on 05/19/2016
I had 3 nests of carpenter ants near my house. In both cases the ants almost immediately started carrying the bait to the nests. It appears in 2 cases the nests were no longer active in 2 days. After 3 days the 3rd, largest nest still had activity. I used termidor and boric acid and the nest was inactive by the end of the day. Advance may have worked with more time.

So far, so good
By Debbie on 07/08/2016
A lot of carpenter ants around our exterior garage door. Looked at night to be sure and locate the nest. Sprinkled the bait around the nest in about 6 foot perimeter as well as any trails. each night we went out and looked and saw less and less ants and a lot of dead ants. Followed up with another application after rain and a week or so. Last check have not seen any ants. Hopefully this continues as it seems to be working!
Flying Ants infestation
By Kris on 05/16/2017
Flying carpenter ants keep appearing in our house when the weather is warm. I searched extensively for their entrance points and found nothing obvious. So, I put the bait out on an upper window sill. At first, nothing happened. Now, two weeks later, the ants have disappeared. I hope they're gone for good. Only time will tell.

Follow up texas - carpenter ants
By Tiff on 08/27/2017
Okay! So the only reason I gave it four stars is because I hadn't to use a combo of things to get the activity down, however; after three days I have killed three queens from the nest in my house. Omg!!! So gross. I kept the bate available for a week. I sweep up the bate off my carpet and found two more queens dead. I found out they were crawling through my window. So I put down some bug be gone granules in the yard and around my foundations. Omg when I did that, it really slowed down. I think I have some young ones hatching because the ones I saw dead are really small and light colored. I will be using the gel next week around windows and the tree outside. Use a combination of bates, gel, advance bait, and outside barrier, you will win! I'm glad they are leaving and I hope they stay away. Keep looking out for them around your house! It only takes one to get in and drill a nest! Heck no!! I pray never again

Difficult to use in plastic trays, but seems effective.
By Sanford on 09/01/2017
Very easy to apply around the perimeter of the house (in the rocks and crevices), but very hard to place on the plastic bait trays due to rather severe static electric repulsion: the bait literally flys away when trying to load and - especially - when trying to attach the lids. Some help for this problem would be appreciated. But, so far, using in combination with the gel bait, this product seems to be quite effective. The carpenter ant colony has been almost entirely eliminated after just two weeks. I will keep the traps loaded pretty much indefinitely to make sure the colony remains destroyed, as these menaces are active throughout our neighborhood.
Dallas TX follow red and black carp ants
By Tiff on 09/04/2017
Follow up. Going on three weeks, I have killed 6 queens in my home. The activity has slowed down, but I have seen some moving around in my living room but still some activity. I noticed some crawling (workers) around my foundation. I have ordered more granular bait and this time the carpenter ant gel. Hopefully this combination will kill them once and for all. I noticed a queen with no wings was on the move, I killed her dead so idk if I got all of them. Debating on getting my tree removed from my home.
Great Bait for Ants I Hate
By Jennifer on 05/05/2018
This protein-based granular product is good for fighting ants in a mood for protein. I use it with the MaxForce Gel to catch both kinds of ant cravings. The Advance Carpenter Ant Bait has a bit of a fishy odor, but it's not terrible and the two cats seem to want to explore it, but I keep it out of their reach.
Works well for ant control
By Kyle on 07/16/2018
I've been using Advance Carpenter Ant Bait for 5 years as a professional. It works great as part of an overall ant treatment, but not as well as a standalone treatment. I use it along with Termidor SC or Taurus SC. Those non-repellant termiticides work great for carpenter or acrobat ants. But the ants will take the bait back to the colony and that helps in eventual eradication. I always tell my customers to check tree limbs touching the roof first, as that is the easiest remedy to keep ants away from your house. This bait should be sprinkled generously around the perimeter where ants are seen trailing.

Carpenter ants
By Jon on 06/12/2024
Saw ants carrying bait. Used in combination with Maxforce gel bait which I also observed ants eating and Taurus SC termicide. After spraying Taurus there was an instant reduction in ants over 24 hour period. Took no chances using a three pronged approach and ants seem to have been wiped out.
Ants are gone!
By Hb on 03/28/2007
I used Advance Carpenter Ant Bait on these black ants in the bathroom. Before this, nothing worked. Those little ant-cans just get in the way. They seem to do nothing. I put a mere spoonful of advance around and blew it in the corners, the ants were gone in an hour!

Saw a reduction in 4-5 days
By Carrie on 06/17/2008
We had carpenter ants in the house and in our old fencing. I put some Advance Carpenter Ant Bait out and they went crazy carrying it back to the nest. Saw a reduction in ants in about 4-5 days. I also recommend the Talstar professional insecticide spray to use on your yard. It does not seem to deter the ants from the bait, like some other sprays.

One word...WOW!
By Becky on 07/02/2008
All I have to say after my first application of Advance Carpenter Ant Bait is wow! The ants immediately scurried off with the bait down their little ant holes. The next day, about 18 hours later, they were up on the surface staggering around and dead! I hope all of their nasty babies enjoyed the feast too. Thanks!

Exodus complete (I think)
By Jonathan on 07/13/2009
This is a follow-up to my last review, and an updated rating for Advance Carpenter Ant Bait. The running tally is: • 1,500+ dead or dying ants sucked up in the dirt devil • 6 queens (I can't believe I found 6). Scary. Glad I'm only renting. The activity is down to a minimum, and clearly their days are numbered since the live ones are moving very slow. (The toxins are taking effect) *evil laugh*. Each morning I find tiny ant graveyards in corners of the house that I had vacuumed clean the night before, and their numbers are decreasing. Good bye, carpenter ants. You will not be missed. If there's an ant afterlife, I hope it is an eternity closely resembling the final moments of your lives, twitching and convulsing uncontrollably, writhing in perceived pain. Advance: When you absolutely, positively have to kill every ant in the room. Accept no substitutes.

Advance Carpenter Ant Bait
By Confidential on 05/08/2010
I have been doing pest control for over 25 years now, even owned a few exterminating companies myself. If there is one bait that I am 100% confident in using for Carp. Ants, it is the Advance Carpenter Ant Bait. I have used this product for a number of years now and the insects acceptance of this formula is amazing. Almost as soon as I distribute it, I see the Carp. ants picking it up and carrying it right back to their nest! The kill effect is also great, I tell my customers give it 4-7 days and no more ants.................and I've never had to go back to retreat any yet! I am also a first time buyer of products at DoMyOwnPestControl and was very very happy with the price and the fast no cost delivery. And NO! They didn't pay me to say that! Now I found a place that I can rely on for the best products, good pricing and fast delivery!

Ants all gone!
By B on 06/07/2010
This product works like a charm! It was recommended to us by our regular pest control man because it is what they use! The ants were all over and in my composter, which is in our back yard, and two days after using "Advance Carpenter Ant Bait" they were all gone, and I haven't seen any since!

Advance Capenter Ant Bait is a GREAT product.
By Diane on 06/13/2010
I have to admit I was skeptical about doing my own extermination rather than hiring a professional but I thought I'd give it a shot. I knew of 3 nests both in and out of the home after observing lots of activity with the ants in particular areas so baited in those areas. One was particularly easy as it was in my kitchen the other two a bit more difficult as we've had lots of rain that kept washing the bait away. The ants in the kitchen disappeared after a week of baiting and I was happy to see them chowing down on the bait one night before their demise. I had to be a bit more creative outside and used a little ingenuity to keep the bait dry for them from the seemingly endless rain. It's been two weeks now and haven't seen any anywhere. The 2lb product goes a long way and if the critters decide to revisit next yr. I still have plenty left for them.

It works!
By Bill on 06/23/2010
I started using this last year, 2009. By the end of the year my carpenter ant problem was solved. Before that I had used a service with monthly applications for almost 5 years. Yes, it helped but it never eliminated my ant problem. I will continue to use Advanced Carpenter Ant Bait as needed.

Use of Advance Carpenter Ant Bait
By B. on 06/27/2010
We used it on huge carpenter ants that were crawling all over the walls of our house. One day after we had put this bait out, the number of ants significantly dropped, two days later they were all but gone. This stuff really works!

Great Product
By Tom on 08/04/2010
Use the Advanced along with the "Maxforce Gel" and your Carpenter ants will be gone in 3-4 days. I had a nest next to a tree about 20' from the back of my house. The Carpenter ants had a trail leading across my deck and were going under my siding and into my house. Sprinkled the Advanced around the base of the tree and put several drops of the Maxforce Gel on my deck. Ants were all dead in 3 days. Easy to do yourself instead of paying a professional exterminator.
This stuff works great!
By Jeff on 08/10/2010
It is fairly expensive, but it is a targeted bait used to kill carpenter ants. I was surprised that other ants didn't seem to be attracted to this bait, but the carpenter ants attacked it and took it all inside the nest. Two days later, the huge nest of ants didn't have any movement at all.
So far so good.....
By Monte on 08/13/2010
My exterminator had tried three times to eliminate carpenter ants but they kept coming back. During his last complimentary/no charge house treatment, he tracked down their nests several yards from the house and suggested I try this ant bait. He said this is what he used and even gave me your website! (Now THAT is a professional). I found their nest and treated the yard from the nest to the house by following their little path. He had said it may take several days to see the effect. Sure nuff, their signs at the house became less noticeable. Then it rained... hard. I retreated the yard again and so far, so good. A few signs but a MAJOR improvement. Bet they are gone in a week or so.
