Thank you for your comments! Usually when fire ant baits are not effective it is either because insecticides were used just before or after the bait was applied, or because the ants are not foraging. Fire ants will generally be foraging when temperatures are around 65-80 degrees F. The entire Advion line was bought by Syngenta, so all Advion products are now made by Syngenta, although none of the formulations have changed. When baiting for fire ants, you want to make sure that the ants are foraging. An oily food such as potato chips place near ant mounds can be a great indicator of whether ants are foraging.
