Works well but directions unclear
By Sara on 06/05/2020
As a homeowner, I've tried a number of ways to get rid of creeping charlie with very little success. This product has definitely shown results, although the directions for application are not very clear. It is definitely designed for commercial use so I think most homeowners will have to do some experimenting. I plan to apply again about 30 days after the first application and increase the concentration just slightly. I applied with a hand sprayer and used a surfactant and was mostly pleased with the results.

Trriclopyr-4
By Drk on 10/02/2020
I've been looking for an herbicide that will kill the wild violets that are taking over my turf. I followed directions for mixing and applied Triclopyr 4 with a 2 gallon pump up spray bottle. Results: one week later the Violet's leaves are curling and turning yellow, and the grass (Ky Blue + Fescue) is still intact.

Excellent for basal bark application
By K on 09/06/2020
When mixed with an oil carrier and applied according to the label instructions this product works very well. Note that it is soil active so try to keep if out of the soil so adjacent plants are not damaged. Also note that it takes up to four months for full effect so be patient.

Wild Violet - Where did you go?
By John on 09/18/2020
If you want to destroy some wild violet In your lawn, this is your product. I couldn't find where I sprayed the violet after two weeks. My neighbor, who borrowed some, would agree. His yard was 50% violet, which has now been completely eliminated.

Getting rid of Alianthus suckers
By Bob on 08/21/2020
This stuff really works! So-called Tree of Heaven and some Black Locust trees were cut down in our yard resulting in annoying suckers that seemed to spring up everywhere. I used a 4:1 mix with kerosene to spray on the leaves of the suckers to eliminate them from our yard. This stuff isn't inexpensive, but it even killed the roots of the suckers, thus making it far easier to pull them up, roots and all. Plus, it didn't kill the nearby bushes.

Triclopyr-4 kills evergreen blackberries
By Steve on 09/27/2019
A 6% mixture of Triclopyr-4 kills evergreen or Himalaya blackberries. Best applied as a basal spray in the fall as per the instructions from a backpack sprayer. Use an oil base and wet the bottom of all stems thoroughly. Wear clothing that may be discarded upon completion if necessary. Caution! Be careful to avoid wanted species. Results will be obvious early next spring.

Triclopyr 4 generic is effective
By Mike on 07/18/2020
I first started using Triclopyr 4 when it was sold as the brand named Garlon 4 Ultra from Dow. Very effective on tamarisk and other broad leaf species, including herbaceous perennials. I have used this generic version for several years now. I've found it effective. And DoMyOwn has been a consistently good supplier, very reliable.

Alligare Triclopyr 4
By Rolando on 06/28/2024
Used it on south Texas mesquite and black brush. I saw yellowing of leaves in 3 to 5 days. I also tried it on cactus but have not seen immediate results . I will know results of killing the woody brush in due time. Herbicide is reasonably priced compared to other brands.
