    Q
Can Altosid briquets be used in an abandoned tank that contains only rain water?
I have an abandoned tank that will be demolished at some point in the future, but for now I have to deal with it filling with rain water. This is a concrete tank and I have to keep it full to prevent it from floating out of the ground due to high water table. Since I keep it over half full, with approximately 400,000 gallons of rain water in it, I don't want to start a mosquito farm, so I want to treat with Altosid. How many of the briquets would be needed to treat 400,000 gallons of water that is approximately 6 - 7 feet deep? Would Altosid in another form (granular, liquid) be better than the briquets?
    A

The Altosid 30-Day Briquets would be appropriate for your needs.  The manufacturer recommends that you use 1 briquet for every 75 sq ft every 30 days.

    Q
The Altosoid briquets say 100 square foot surface area and 2' deep + 1 briquet. If the water is shallower...
Does shallower water = more surface area treatable w a briqette? example- 6" deep water= 400 square foot treatable area?
    A

Yes, the Altosid Briquets 30 Day (100 briquets) are applied at one briquet per 100 sq ft in up to 2ft of water. Adding an additional briquet per additional 2ft. We also offer additional larvicides such as Altosid Pro-G and Mosquito Beater for smaller areas.
