Avenger killed my weeds

We had 1000 square feet of weeds and I was looking for an environmentally friendly product. At nurseries I was advised that nothing worked except real poisons and should forget about the harm they cause. On line I discovered Avenger and gave it a try. A few hours after spraying, most of the weeds turned totally brown but there were some weeds and parts of weeds that were green because Avenger kills only where it touches and I'd missed some spots. Respraying just the green was quick because the green was easy to see. After the second spraying, the weeds were wiped out.

Effective organic herbicide

I used this product to treat perennial weeds in my stone driveway. Previously I used a backpack flame weeder to do the same job. We we are organic farmers so chemicals are not an option. Avenger did a better job than flaming, keeping perennial grasses and weeds down for about one month after treatment. I reapplied again after about a month or two and it effectively knocked everything down again. I used it at the highest recommended concentration. I think it would work at a slightly lower rate as well, as it burned weeds down really quickly. I would recommend it and will definitely use it again.

So so

I bought this product instead of Roundup because I have animals. I accidentally got a bit on my skin and it burned pretty bad. It smelled good, and it worked well on most weeds and grass when thoroughly saturated. I have 5 acres and it would cost me a fortune to use this on a regular basis. My suggestion is to try it to see if it works for you, especially if you have a smaller property. I have a little left after the area I sprayed and will be trying it out again.

Didn't work for me

I've used 3 gallons on grass growing through some recently installed decomposed granite. Last two gallons were mixed 2:1. Turns the grass brown then the grass grows right back. By 'right back' I mean within days.

Expert response:
Avenger will only kill the existing plants that are sprayed with it; it will not prevent new growth. You may have a particularly hearty plant that requires different active ingredients for better kill, or you could be getting new growth from additional seeds. Product changed?

I have been using this product for a few years and I haved loved it. Always did the job I purchased it for. I noticed this time it was a different color. It did not kill the weeds. It was a lot of work in the heat and then to have it not work was more than disappointing.

Doesn't phase most of our weeds

I mixed carefully and soaked the weeds. Not much happened so I increased the concentration to the next level. Crabgrass is green as can be. It did stunt some weeds but we have a nightshade weed in AZ that is notoriously hard to wipe out and it didn't phase it either. I'm so disappointed because I was really hoping there was a good alternative to Round UP (which the WHO says 'probably causes cancer.)

It works

I bought this stuff mainly to protect my animals. It has a strong citrus smell,which they don't like. This weed killer really works fast-even faster than roundup. It is expensive but worth it.

Good top kill

Avenger is pricey but very effective at top kill for grasses and weeds. It is effective in cool weather (50 +). You do need to reapply, but after a few weeks, most areas give up and only spot treatment is necessary.

Effective

Used 1/2 gallon of Avenger in a 5 gallon sprayer and sprayed some pretty thick and tough weeds over 1500 sq. ft. garden. 90% of weeds dead in just a couple of hours on a cloudy day. Very effective but expensive.

Would not recommend

Followed directions exactly it has 10 beautiful days and the grass/ weeds that I sprayed are as healthy as ever. This was an expensive mistake ! I would never recommend this product.

Love this stuff

I love this stuff because it is effective without the danger of poison. I can smell round up a block away & it is sickening. Avenger is not offensive to the nose but very offensive to the weeds.

Did not kill the roots

Applied this product to grasses in our garden, used it because it was a natural weed killer. Most of the weeds turned brown with in a week. it is now two weeks after application and the treated weeds are back with new growth. Might have to resort to a real herbicide to control grass and weeds in our garden.

Avenger Weed Killer Review

Great working herbicide on all and any plants, and it's the first EPA registered organic herbicide - it doesn't have the main ingredient glyphosate, like RoundUp and others. AVENGER WEED KILL

When I spoke with DMO told rep I needed strongest weed killer and this was suggested and was organic,but after applying it has killed nothing and after several emails and phone calls have received no answers, mixed according to directions,sprayed and it did nothing. Terrible service and Avenger does not answer phone or respond to emails. Do not buy this product!!!!

Pricey But Effective

Effective and safe but at a relatively high price. Well worth it to reduce the amount of chemicals in our soil and water though. Be sure to coat the weed entirely. Seems to work best in sunlight as well.

organic weed killer

I bought it for a client, because they had to see for themselves. That it does not kill to the rootzone, just a burn on the leaf surface. I was treating poison ivy. I used a traditional weed killer the following week and it was gone in 48 hrs.

Customer Service

This review isn't about the product and its performance as, frankly, I have yet to use it (see below). This is a review of the way in which I was treated by DoMyOwn... I received my product to find that the carton was completely drenched, soaking wet. It was obvious that the product leaked from its canister during shipment. I called DoMyOwn and was asked to take and email photos to them, which I did. Although after business hours, I received a return email asking me how I preferred to rectify this matter. I chose to receive a new shipment, obviously at their expense. In this day and age it is so easy to find a company who doesn't care about keeping their customers satisfied, or even one that feels obligated in doing the right thing. Not so with DoMyOwn. I can't tell you how impressed I was in the way they handled this matter. And, two days later (today), I received my replacement shipment! I read the reviews on their product (Avenger Weed Killer) and they were exemplary. I will be more than happy to write another review once I use the product and can attest to its results, first hand, but I wanted to get this review out there to let everyone know that it's not only the product that you should feel good about, but the company with whom you are dealing with. Kudos to DoMyOwn. There should be more companies like them out there.

Pricey but works

I had a bunch of thick grass that needed to die in my garden area. I mixed per instructions to the highest concentration of 1:3 water. By the evening everything turned yellow. You do really have to saturate the target plants. Because the chemical is oily it was difficult to get the even spray with water-based products. Overall I would buy again to keep down on the constant hand weeding.

it worked

I liked the Avenger Weed Killer because I could avoid using Roundup. It worked good but it took a few more days than anticipated to see good results. And I need to cover the plant better next time.

good product. Fed Ex stinks

this is a great product. I've been using it for years. I haven't received my recent order because Fed Ex screwed the order up three times. But, I love the product and DoMy Own has done everything that they can to get me the product. They can't control the shipping co.
