    I need to know how much Avis .15EC to use to make a gallon?
    I just recently bought a bottle of Avid .15 EC miticide and it has no instructions for the mix ratio I need your help.

    Depending on what you are treating, the mixing ratio of Avid is labeled per 100 gallons at 4oz. With this said you would want to use approx. .04 fl oz per gallon of water. We do provide the product label on our website but it should also be attached to the actual product itself as a pull off.

    Avid 015 EC is not labeled for use on edible plants. We recommend using Mite-E-oil which is labeled for fruits and vegetables.

    Can Avid.15 EC be used as a wide area spray?
    I definitely have a spider mite infestation in my lawn and/or the shrubs, as we get tons of them on the concrete patio to the rear of the house (south side). Can I spray the yard/shrubs with this application?

    Avid 0.15 EC is not labeled to be applied to lawns but can be used on foliage plants.

    Talstar P works well for both the mature and the immature spider mites. Talstar P provides optimal spider mite control when applied during spring to mid-summer. Higher application rates and/or more frequent treatments may be required for acceptable spider mite control during mid- to late-summer.  Talstar can be applied to lawns and is supre gentle on plants and might be a better choice for you.

    Is Avid effective in controlling scale insects on woody ornamentals, such as podocarpus?
    If not, do you have other recommendations. The temperature is currently too warm for use of oils without damage to new growth, but I could wait for a cooler week.

    Avid 0.15 EC Miticide Insecticide is the best insecticide for mites and leaf miners. ImidaPro 2SC is labeled for the treatment of scale insects on ornamentals. Please refer to the product label for complete mixing and application instructions.

    Does Avid work on bird mites?

    No, Avid 0.15 EC Miticide Insecticide is not labeled for bird mites. We would recommend checking out a general insecticide, such as Onslaught Insecticide. It is labeled for general mites and can be used in and around your home for mites. Be sure to follow the label with regards to mixing instructions.

    can spider mites migrate to inside the home?
    have spider mites in trees, and am wondering if that's whats in my home or if the bird mites have spread to the exterior of the home and onto the landscape.

    Spider mites have been known to enter structures during their migratory periods. Spider mites are known to be more orange/red than the salt/pepper look of bird mites.

    Why is Avid "not recomended" to use as a drench?
    Will it not work? Not comfortable spraying my indoor palms indoors or even in garage during the winter when mites are more of a issue.

    Avid is not a true systemic insecticide that is absorbed through the plants, and the product label does not have any application directions for drenching. Many of the target insects, such as spider mites, cannot be treated with a drench, rather they must be treated topically. Avid does have some translaminar movement, which means the active ingredient can move through the leaf surface, but it does not move through the rest of the plant.
