Onslaught is a milky insecticide concentrate made for dilution with water and application with hand or power sprayers. Onslaught Microencapsulated Insecticide is designed to provide long residual activity against pests listed on this label when applied as surface or spot treatments, injected into wall voids, or as a crack and crevice spray in and around residential and commercial structures, as well as on turf and landscaping. Onslaught Microencapsulated Insecticide may be sprayed on any surface that will not be stained by water. Labeled for over 200 insect pests, Onslaught is always a great place to start when looking for a residual insecticide concentrate.
Onslaught is an excellent broad-spectrum insecticide concentrate for use in general pest control applications such as quarterly preventative treatments. Because of the microencapsulation, Onslaught is a great choice for larger, tougher pests such as scorpions, roaches, or spiders. Onslaught also offers great control of flying and stinging insect such as mosquitoes and overwintering pests like boxelder bugs. Microencapsulation also means Onslaught performs well on porous surfaces like concrete without the visible residue of wettable powders.
Onslaught also won’t harm turf and ornamentals and is appropriate for dozens of these pests. Use Onslaught even in livestock facilities such as dairy barns, poultry houses, and horse barns (do not use on animals).

Onslaught should be mixed with water and applied with hand pressurized or power operated sprayers.
Shake container of Onslaught Insecticide before diluting. Clean spray equipment before use.
For dilution, add approximately half the required water to spray tank and then add the appropriate amount of insecticide. Agitate and slowly add the remaining water.
Agitate spray thoroughly before using and also occasionally during use to ensure dispersion.
If spray filter screens are used, they should be 50 mesh or larger.
Apply two-second bursts of spray per square foot of area being treated. Avoid excessive application. Dampen surfaces but not to the point of saturation or run-off.

Use in the Following Areas:
Indoors and outdoors, in food and non-food areas such as, but not limited to: homes, schools, warehouses, office buildings, apartment buildings, theatres, hotels, industrial buildings, motels, kennels, livestock housing, food processing plants, food service establishments, restaurants, supermarkets and grocery stores, transportation equipment, truck trailers, railroad cars, and food manufacturing and warehousing establishments. Food processing/handling establishments include but are not limited to: restaurants, meat processing plants, grocery stores, bakeries, food manufacturing and processing establishments, and food warehousing establishments. Also for use on backyards, lawns, trees, ornamental landscaping, recreational areas, parks and athletic fields.
Crawling Pests: Apply as a coarse, wet spray to surfaces where these pests are normally found. Treat floors, baseboards, around doors and windows, in attics, crawl spaces, eaves, corners, closets, walls, utility pipes, storage areas, and all cracks and crevices. Treat underneath sinks, dishwashers, refrigerators, stoves, the underside of shelves, drawers, cabinets, areas behind pipes, and in all places where these insects shelter. Contact as many insects as possible with direct spray. Repeat applications as needed, but do not exceed more than one application every seven days.
Fleas: Thoroughly apply as a fine particle broadcast spray to infested rugs, carpets, and pet resting areas. Prior to treatment, aquariums and fish bowls should be covered, and pet animals should be removed from the area being treated. Do not permit humans or pets to contact treated surfaces until spray has dried. Old pet bedding should be removed and replaced with clean, fresh bedding after treatment. DO NOT SPRAY PETS WITH THIS PRODUCT. Treat dogs and cats with a product registered for use on animals.
Bed Bugs: Thoroughly clean and sanitize mattresses and box springs. Treat mattresses and box springs with an approved pesticide, such as a pyrethrin aerosol. Apply Onslaught as a spot treatment to potential harborage sites and migration paths, and cracks and crevices, around baseboards, floorboards, head-boards, and walls. Not recommended as the sole treatment for bed bugs.
Other than applications to building foundations, all outdoor applications to impervious surfaces such as sidewalks, driveways, patios, porches and structural surfaces (such as windows, doors, and eaves) are limited to spot and crack-and-crevices applications, only.
Exterior walls, foundations, and structures: To control infestations of listed pests, treat exterior surfaces of buildings, walls, window frames, around garbage cans, eaves, cracks and crevices, porches, decks, gazebos, patios, carports, garages, fence lines, and other areas where pests are active or may be hiding.
To help prevent insect infestation of buildings: Treat a 2 to 6 foot band of soil or other substrate adjacent to buildings. Treat building foundation to a height of 2 to 3 feet. Treat exterior walls, eaves, cracks and crevices, and other areas where listed pests are active, and may find entrance into building.
Apply with sufficient water to adequately cover the area being treated, but do not allow dripping or run-off to occur. Alternate mixing directions are to use 2 to 4 fluid ounces of concentrate per 50 gallons of water.
Insect control for Ornamental Trees & Landscapes: For residential and commercial trees, shrubs, ground covers, and bedding and foliage plants that will not be harvested for food, apply Onslaught in appropriate volumes of water to obtain thorough coverage. Apply as a full-coverage foliar spray, applying to the point of drip but not runoff. Treat active soil pests with an application to surrounding soil. Repeat treatments as necessary to achieve control, using higher application rates as pest pressure and foliage area increases. Repeat applications as necessary, but no more than once every seven days. Certain plants may be sensitive to the final spray solution. A small-scale test is recommended to verify safety to ornamental plants. Spray and observe for one week prior to application of an entire planting.
Insect control for Lawns & Turf-grass: For best results, lawn or turf grass should be mowed 1 to 2 days before spraying. Treat with spraying equipment or a hand sprayer. Use application volumes of up to 10 gallons per 1,000 square feet to get uniform coverage when treating dense grass foliage. For low volume applications using less than 2 gallons of spray solution per 1,000 square feet, immediate irrigation with at least 0.25 inches of water is recommended to improve effectiveness on sub-surface pests. When hand spraying, spray using a slow, even sweeping motion, making sure to cover the entire lawn or turf grass area where pests are observed. Spray under ornamentals and trees. Repeat treatments may be necessary at 7 to 14 day intervals. Use 1 fl. oz. per 1,000 sq. ft. for mole crickets and chinch bugs.
We had a very noticeable knockdown from whatever type of mites we have been fighting using this product. I used it in my car even and have not had anything work this good and the house is so much better. Second application will go down this weekend-I am encouraged! After using many other insecticides this has worked best for us. We just followed direction on the bottle.
Highly effective, very economical and long lasting

No odor, and non-staining, leaves no visible film or residue. When mixed and applied at the suggested rates, you get what the manufacturer promises: THREE months of highly effective pest control. It is apparently U.V. resistant, as we are in Arizona, and still get three months out of a single application. For reference, we are using this product for the control of: SCORPIONS, FIRE ANTS, BLISTER BEETLES, and EARWIGS.
What can I say Great product!! Ants DEAD! Spiders Dead! Wasps Dead! And the best is Carpenter Bees DEAD DEAD DEAD!! I made a light mix for inside the house and the trees and shrubs, and a heaver mix for spraying the outside of the house. All my plant life is safe and green and we have not seen any types of insects in any of the treated areas in or outside the house.
Onslaught is exactly as advertised. Works great on bed bugs. Follow all instructions on this product and it will take care of those pests. It beats paying Orkin $1,500 bucks to take care of something you could do yourself for $70. Also be careful of old furniture you bring into your house. No telling what kind of infestation that might be hiding inside it!
I followed the intructions mixed it at .50% at first then at 1%, I sprayed the carpet in my room and living three times every seven days and the bird mites are still there. I an very disappointed after domyownpestcontrol recomended this pruduct and it did not do the job. I would not recomend it.
We appreciate your feedback. We do always make customers that have a bird mite issue aware that there is no great solution and we are always reluctant to make product recommendations for this reason. There is no current research on this pest and there are no products labeled for the bird mites in a home. As noted in all of our Q&A's and our bird mite article on our site, some folks have success using the Onslaught, Sterifab and Diatomaceous Earth dust combo and some do not. Since there is no research on the pest we are not sure why this happens. We suspect some folks have not found the hidden source of the problem, an abandoned bird nest or dead bird, and some may not be treating thoroughly enough and others have wrongly assumed they have bird mites. We always suggest getting suspected mites identified by a trained entomologist as some live on the skin and some live in the environment. If you are treating the environment for a skin parasite you will not receive the needed results. Please let us know if e can be of further assistance.
Onslaught will kill bird mites, but the problem with bird mites is finding the breeding source. Onslaught may provide some relief, however many times mites will breed under carpet or in wall voids, where you cannot spray. This is why treating for mites is very difficult and usually requires multiple products and lots of vacuuming.
Why is Onslaught so much more than others like Bifen and Conquer?
I did my research on the insecticide portion of my planned flea control program (will be mixing with an IGR). What does the Onslaught offer that products like Bifen, Conquer and Demise do not? The significantly higher price tag must be due to some increased benefits.
Each of the products you mentioned have different active ingredients, or different formulations and different manufacturers. So that we are comparing apples to apples, we will compare Onslaught and Conquer which both have the same active ingredient, Esfenvalerate and both are sold in pint size bottles. Conquer contains 3.48% of the active ingredient and Onslaught contains 6.40% of the active ingredient. You will use 1 ounce of Conquer to make 1 gallon of finished solution for flea control while you will only use .5 of Onslaught to make one finished gallon of solution for flea control. Conquer is labeled for about 50 insects, Onslaught is labeled for about 200. Onslaught also has the benefit of being micro-encapsulated which makes it safer to use indoors and makes it last longer outdoors.
Bifen is not a good choice for indoor flea control because it cannot be used over carpeting or on furniture It can only be used in cracks and crevices around the perimeter of the room. Demize EC is a great product, which offers a fast knockdown but it does not offer any residual control and it can only be used indoors.
I want to use onslaught indoors against bird mites. Under the usage instructions it sounds like it can be sprayed on bare floors. I would want to spray it all over my bare floors and walls and carpet but I go barefooted a lot, so would this be a problem?
Yes, you can safely and effectively spray Onslaught Insecticide indoors as a floor broadcast for bird mites. Be sure to allow the floors to fully dry. Once the treated area is fully dry you may re-enter the treated area with bare feet safely.
Is it safe to use a full ounce of Onslaught one week after application?
I have recently sprayed Onslaught in my apartment twice for bird mites at 1/2 ounces per gal. each time with about 8 days in between with Gentrol the first time. Is it safe for me to use a full ounce next after another week?
According to the Onslaught product label, you can use Onslaught at the "heavy infestation" rate of 1 ounce per gallon of water every seven days. Gentrol is not labeled for mites and therefore is not recommended for bird mite infestations.
After spraying insecticide, how long do I need to wait before I can mop the floors and baseboards?
Exterminator sprayed Onslaught (I believe) combined with Gentrol. I just purchased Bedlam to spot treat on my own too.
You did not indicate what pest you are treating for, but we assume you are treating for bedbugs because of the purchase of Bedlam. Bedbug treatments are mainly applied directly to cracks and crevices where these pests hide. Mopping or wiping down the baseboards should not effect the product that is in cracks and crevices around the baseboards. If we have missed the mark though and you are treating for a different pest then mopping or wiping down the baseboards could remove the residual product and pests crossing over the area would no longer be controlled by the products. It would be our recommendation to avoid wiping or mopping the treated area until the pest insect is gone to avoid disturbing the residual properties of the products.
