Mouse odor
By Mike on 06/02/2010
I recently removed my bathtub and found a huge mouse nest . The wood subfloor and studs really stunk. I tried several products but non seemed to work. This product worked very well. It took 3 treatments (from only one bottle) with about 2-3 days drying time for each. There is still a very very faint odor in the room when we leave the door shut but my wife and I do not think it is mouse smell anymore. She thinks it is kind of a wood odor. I also found the order and delivery process excellent. Thanks for a great product and great service. Mike

Wildlife odor control!
By Aew on 01/05/2014
I own and operate a wildlife removal service and use this product to remove harmful bacteria and odor from wildlife feces, urine, body oils and birthing. This product eliminates the the odor and harmful bacteria in my clients home's attics and crawlspaces. Also eliminates welcoming signals to other wildlife that would otherwise be emitting through the home's venting.

Amazing results
By M.d. on 11/10/2008
I'm using Bac-A-Zap Odor Eliminator for pet odors and pet urine. I've used it before with amazing results but it was only a sample amount. Now I need to do my whole house.

Absolutely Terrific
By Ann on 10/24/2010
We had these little fruit flies coming from our drain; couldn't imagine, never had this problem before, no matter what we did; couldn't get rid of them. One shot of the Bac-A-Zap into the drain and no more flies. Would recommend this product to anyone. Killed all bacteria and eliminated the odor from the garbage disposal. Luv it!

Bac A Zap is AMAZING !!!
By Gail on 06/04/2012
Bac a Zap worked great!! We had a dead bunny that had taken refuge behind our cabinets after our cat brought him into our house. The odor was awful even after removing the carcass. We sprayed the area with Bac A Zap and the odor was completely gone within hours. We are so thankful

It seems to work as I wanted it to
By E.s.r. on 08/16/2012
Last winter, here in Vermont, we bought a old house. Things smelled somewhat musty downstairs during the first few months this winter, but we tolerated it. Summer warmth and humidity came, however, and the smell became unbearable! Finally, suspicious there was something in a walls, I drilled 1/2" holes in the walls - a hole about every 16" - positioned between each wall stud - about 8" to 10" above the floor. When I sniffed the holes (about a dozen holes in the walls), sure enough, four bays smelled awful! I then cut a 10"x 16" rectangle (using a utility knife) out of the bottom of the wall sections of the suspicious bays, and . . . wa-laa, dead mice! In three bays, these mice had been there many years, and in one bay, the mice looked a little "fresher". I removed all the mice and vacuumed out the bays. I then tried some hardware-store-available oder-removing spray - for several days spraying more & more of this stuff into the cavaties. The smell - POWERFUL smell - persisted, however. The problem did not go away (. . . but, I have to remember, it had been there for YEARS!) The hardware-store-bought stuff simply didn't work. I tried putting mothballs in the cavities. They helped, but the pungent smell overpowered the mothballs. . . . Not a solution! After researching the situation further, three weeks ago, I bought a bottle of the Bac-A-Zap. I sparyed the Bac-A-Zap into the cavities - soaking the studs and inside surfices of the wall board - and the smell immediately improved a little. The next day, I sprayed again, and the smell seemed to subside a little more (although it was still bad . . .). Now, for the past two to three weeks, I've been repeating this spraying about every three or four days, fully wetting the studs and wall board. Now, after several weeks of this spray-and-wait-and-spray-and-wait process, the smell is definitely getting better. I suspect it will be tolerable soon. From what I'm finding so far, it appears the Bac-A-Zap stuff does do some good. Believe me, this years-old dead mice lying on raw 2x4 studs - accompied by fresh dead mice - is a very tough test for any such product. I think I'm O.K. with the Bac-A-Zap results. It seems to work.

Works great for skunk odor
By Anne on 10/07/2011
Our dog got a mini spray from a skunk that was just outside our door one night, but the smell was still overpowering in the house. I tried your product as a sample from an animal control agent. Boy did that do that trick. It neutralized the odor - and nothing works on a skunk smell! I bought some of this recently but am still learning what else to use it for. A great product!

Great Product for Animal Odors!
By Donna on 03/03/2012
I use a Professional Pest Control Company for my business. When I purchased my new home (which is a 67 year old house) I could not get rid of the animal urine smell in the mud room and laundry room. The previous owner had several small dogs who used these rooms for potty purposes. My Pest Control Tech suggested this product...it is GREAT. Bac A Zap got rid of the odor immediately. I also use it at my business to control fruit fly's in the drains.

Unbelievable.
By Jay on 01/01/2014
Somehow our freezer door was left ajar for long enough to thaw and spoil a lot of meat. The run-off coated the floor of the freezer, filled the drip pan to the top and dripped a lot of liquid onto the concrete and studs of my shed. It was a mess and smelled dreadful (rotten deer, beef and pork). None of my tactics were doing anything to help out the smell. I rinsed and bleached the freezer interior, drip pan and underneath, and the same for the shed -- some help, but not much once the freezer or shed doors were closed for any period of time. I even tried a lot of coffee grounds in the shed with almost no change in the odor. I used 2 applications of Bac-A-Zap on both the freezer and shed interior and have been amazed at the results. It still smells, but it isn't a rotting meat smell. In fact, it's hard to say what it smells like -- maybe something industrial? Not sure, but it is not a bad smell in any way -- it smells clean and I can't say my shed has ever smelled that way before this event. If I had to do this over again, I would change my technique in just a few ways. I would clean the floor, walls and freezer with dish soap first and rinse it really well. Then I would use Bac-a-zap after it had dried out. I would get two bottles (I only used one for this mess) because it seems to work better with more applications. The key thing is that this is a bacterial and enzymatic cleaner, so I would try to avoid bleaching anything before this product -- the bleach doesn't work well enough on it's own and I am certain that any bleach residues would inactivate any beneficial bacteria or enzymes in the product. I have been telling everyone about how well this product works. I must admit, I did not hold out a lot of hope and I was warming up to the prospect of a new freezer and living with a foul-smelling shed. Thankfully, I don't have to do consider either. Same freezer, fresh shed and it only cost me $20. How can that possibly be anything other than a remarkable experience?

Cost Savings
By Gerald on 09/20/2013
We live next to a forested are and have trouble with mice from time to time crawling up under the house and dying in the insulation thus causing a terrible smell in the house. I found Bac-A-Zap will eliminate the smell by drilling a small hole in the floor where the smell is the strongest and using a pressure bottle with a small probe spraying the solution in the area. It takes about 12-14 hours for the Bac-A-Zap to work its magic. Thus eliminating the smell. In the past I have had pest control people come out costing me over $700.00 to remove the smell/mice.

It Works!
By Ann on 08/27/2015
What can I say - IT WORKS! We found bats in the attic while renovating our 1870 home. Everything was urine soaked with piles of guano. What a stench. We cleaned, disinfected and then sprayed Bac-Azap. The smell is gone. It did cover up the odor like an air freshener, it is permanently gone. It has been 2 weeks with much rain and high humidity and there is no odor. Also all the bats were safely relocated.

Great product
By Mike on 12/24/2010
Been using this product for years. I work for a Church that converted a horse barn into the Church building. We are located in a wooded area and you can just imagine the types of critters/smells we have had to deal with. I have used it to control all kinds of smells, regular maintenance of our drains and help control fruit fly infestations. I recommend it!

Great Product
By Dawn on 09/06/2015
I bought this for the shower, we were getting those "sewer flies." We tried many other products, including the thick bleach, but nothing helped. I heard about this product and found it on DoMyOwnPestControl.com for a great price. I ordered it on a Sunday and it was delivered on Wednesday!!! Talk about great service! I followed the directions on the bottle and it after a few days they were gone!

Great Product (Dead animal smell)
By Christine on 04/27/2017
We have a country trailer we use once a month and recently discovered a large rat had died and rotted in the trailer while we were gone for several weeks. You can imagine the horrible smell in the air and in the location of his death. We treated the walls and floors with this product twice (a week apart) and it worked great! We also used the air filter bags (sold on this website) to help freshen the air. Both products were easy to use and successfully removed the horrible odor. The only suggestion is if you are working in a tight space and spray a large amount, you might want to leave the area for awhile and get some fresh air. I'm very sensitive to smells and the spray can be a little overwhelming after initial treatment.

Not Totally Satisfied
By Peter on 11/17/2016
Squirt bottle arrived with electrical tape used to affix the pump top to the rest of the bottle. After several squirts, the top just came apart - plastic tabs needed to hold the top to the bottle were mostly gone. After 40 minutes in my work shop, I was able to get the pump top mounted so it would hold. Using product to rid car heater of dead animal smell - this is a slow going process with many treatments, but I believe it is helping.
Expert response:
We are sorry that you were having trouble with the Bac-a-Zap bottle. Bottles are often taped around the tops of products to help prevent leaking in transit. Please let us know if you need a replacement top to the bottle! We appreciate your comments and your business!

Awesome product
By Diane on 01/05/2018
Finally located the source of the horrible smell. A dead mouse in a bedroom floor register - which got worse each time the furnace cycled, blowing hot air to warm the dead body and spread the odor. I tried a product called Odoban. Didn't even phase the smell. Tried mothballs. Tried room sprays. Terrible to sleep with all of those odors in the room! Read online about Bac-A-Zap. Ordered the product and it worked fabulously! I applied Bac-A-Zap twice to the spot where the body had been. Odor is completely gone! Soooo glad to have found this product. It really works!

Bats in the attic
By Rick on 09/06/2014
Purchased an older home which had to be remodeled. When opening up a sealed attic area we discovered that bats had been roosting for an extensive period of time. After initial cleanup. The odor was still very prevalent. Research led me to Bac-A-Zap odor eliminator and it turned out to be exactly as advertised. Two applications were done on separate days plus extensive aeration of the attic. After one week it was 95% cleared up. Reason not completely was we still had a bat. The bat is now gone (at least for the last 3 days) and no evidence inside or outside the house can be found. Excellent product which I have recommended.

Does the Trick
By Randal on 12/28/2018
This product worked when nothing else did. I had a dead animal in my bathroom wall made apparent by the horrendous odor of decomposition. I was at a loss but desperate, and hanging "odor absorbing" bags did nothing. I sprayed the product on my bathroom walls three times over two days - odor completely gone for good. No stain or residue, It has a strong smell but a welcome relief from the smell of death. The smell of the product faded and disappeared within a week.

Works really well
By Jill on 09/22/2015
We moved into a rental house that had a terrible smell in one of the bedrooms. I am certain it is due to water damage. We rinsed our carpets with Bac AZap and it got rid of most of the smell. Considering what the room was like I was amazed that it put a noticeable dent in it.

Great!
By Anonymous on 06/10/2016
Last month, an animal of some type crawled up behind or beneath my furnace and died. The smell was atrocious and we were unable to locate the animal or remain in the home. After being on line for some time, we located your site and ordered the Bac-A-Zap Odor Eliminator and the Earth Care Odor Removal Bag. We returned home when those were received, sprayed the odor eliminator and left the odor removal bag. Improvement was noted immediately! I returned each day, and after several days of respraying, we were able to bear the remaining smell and return home. I cannot believe other places were unable to help, but I will certainly recommend your company to anyone with a similar problem. Thank you so much for your help!
