Details

For optimum results:

  1. Add a spray adjuvant, such as DYNE-AMIC for best results
  2. Use a water conditioning agent, such as QUEST, for high PH and water hardness
  3. Avoid applying during excessively dry or hot periods unless irrigation is used
  4. Turf should not be mowed 1 to 2 days before and following application
  5. Reseed no sooner than 3 to 4 weeks after application of this product

For residential turf, golf courses, sod farm and grass grown for seed uses: Apply 3 to 4 pints of this product per acre (1.1 to 1.5 oz. per 1,000 square feet) to control above listed broadleaf weeds. Do not apply more than 4.2 pints of product (1.5 lbs. total ae) per acre per application. Do not apply more than 2 applications per year with a minimum retreatment interval of 21 days. The maximum use rate for most warm season grasses is 3 pints per acre.

On closely mowed golf course fairway bentgrass, apply this product at a maximum rate of 2 pints in 20 to 240 gallons of water per acre (0.73 fluid ounce in 0.5 to 5.5 gallons of water per 1,000 square feet). During conditions which promote turf stress use lower rates, 1 to 1.5 pints in 20 to 240 gallons of water per acre (0.36 to 0.55 fluid ounce in 0.3 to 5.5 gallons per 1,000 square feet). Slight turf yellowing will disappear after one week. To minimize grass injury, a second application should not be made for at least 4 weeks. Avoid swath overlaps. Do not use on golf course greens or tees.

    Battleship smoked puncturevine

    By David on 06/29/2011

I had a 4 week old yard of seeded buffalo grass that was infested by puncture vine. This killed the puncture vine and the young buffalo survived.

    Good Stuff

    By Peter on 05/15/2014

    Verified Purchase

I applied this with a 15 gallon sprayer towed behind my mower. It's important to first figure out how much area a full tank will cover so you know how much herbicide to put in. In my case, one tankful does about a half-acre with mower at idle speed. I saw results within a day, weeds were wilting. So far I am very pleased. No apparent damage to the turf. Be careful with this stuff, it's very concentrated. Important to get the coverage right I think.

    Gets rid of lawn weeds

    By Lowell on 05/11/2018

I've used this herbicide for about 4 years and it does work on broadleaf weeds in the lawn. However, I've often made the concentrate too strong which has affected the grass, so I recommend not going over the recommended concentration.

Great alternative to your normal 3-way

    By Michael on 06/18/2019

I needed a product to spray in between my normal 3way apps with 2-4d in it. This product was more cost effective than most other options, but it did exactly what I needed, as well as putting a good knock down on some harder to control weeds.

Q
Can I use Battleship around grapes

Wine grapes in central minnesota.

A
Battleship III Herbicide - 2.5 gallon should not be applied near grapes. Depending on what you are treating, you could use a Glyphosate product like Round Up to spot treat or Fertilome over the Top Grass Killer.

Q
For how long does Battleship III control broadleaf weeds after application?
A

Since Battleship III Herbicide is a post-emergent herbicide, it is only going to kill weeds that are emerged at the time of the application. Broadleaf weeds germinate at different times of the year so follow up or split applications may be required. Per the product label, do not apply more than 2 applications per year with a minimum retreatment interval of 21 days. You can apply 3-4 pints per acre (1.1 fl oz to 1.5 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft) per application.
