    Q
I diluted Bio Advanced Fruit, Citrus and Vegetable Insect Controlv with too much water
I needed to use 21 ounces per 1 gallon of water. I used a 2 gallon container instead of a 1 gallon. I thought it was a 1 gallon. Do I need to retreat and when. I am treating a very large lemon tree, it has heavy infestation
    A

No, you will not need to retreat with Bio Advanced Fruit, Citrus and Vegetable Insect Control. Per label, the rate is 21 oz per 1 gallon of water and you would pour that mixture on the base. Then, it instructs you to add another gallon of water to base. So by adding the 2 gallons together with 21 oz of product at once, is sufficient.

  • Asked by Keith from Centertown, Missouri

    Q
What is the mix rate per gallon of water using Bio Advanced Fruit, Citrus and Vegetable Insect Control to treat vegetables?
I am only seeing a mix rate for trees of 0.5 fl oz per 10 sq ft, I need it per gallon of water.
    A

The Bio Advanced Fruit, Citrus and Vegetable Insect Control has a lengthy Product Label that goes over all the specifications of use around each type of edible.

Under Vegetables on page 4 of the product label: Mix 0.5 fl oz per 10 sq ft in 1 quart (32 oz) of water. Evenly apply the prepared mixture (0.5 oz. product plus 1 qt. water) to the base of all plants within the 10 sq. ft. of area and not just to the base of one plant in the treatment area.

Do not make more the one application per year.

    Q
What product can be used as a systemic or foliar application on fruit trees to control Japanese Beetles? Neem Oil has been useless and ineffective.
The product label for Bio Advanced Fruit, Citrus and Vegetable Insect Control does not list beetles as controlled on the product label.
    A

Correct, Bio Advanced Fruit, Citrus and Vegetable Insect Control is not labeled for beetles on fruit trees.

Sevin Concentrate would be recommended for a foliar spray application to control Japanese Beetles on fruit trees. For soil or ground treatments, Milky Spore Powder can be used to control Japanese Beetle larvae (white grubs) around fruit trees and vegetables.

Review the Sevin product label and Mily Spore product label for more information.

    Q
Does Bio Advanced Fruit, Citrus and Vegetable Insect Control work on Sri Lanka beetles?
    A

Bayer Advanced Fruit, Citrus and Vegetable Insect Control is labeled to target beetles but does not specify Sri Lanka beetles.

The only product that we know of that is recommended for the Sri Lanka Weevil is Talstar, but Talstar will not kill the eggs. (Talstar is not labeled for the Sri Lanka Weevil but is recommended by many universities that have done research on this pest) We recommend that you contact your local cooperative extension as they may have more information on the Sri Lanka Weevil that is invading your region.

    Q
Can Bio Advanced Fruit, Citrus and Vegetable Insect Control be used on Agave?
    A

Most products, including the Bio Advanced Fruit, Citrus and Vegetable Insect Control are not labeled for use specifically on Agave plants. The treatment would be a slight guessing game based on the size of the plant and instructions to similar sized plants on the label. You could potentially use the rate of 0.5 oz. per 10 square feet which is listed for how to treat many berry plants/bushes.
