Great for eliminating Poa Annua, and other annual grasses
By Geoff on 02/17/2015
Great pre-emergent herbicide product when used at the proper time (October/November) to prevent spring/summer seed germination of Poa Annua and other listed grasses. Can be used in spring too before grass appears. Safe for use on Dichondra lawns, too. Be sure to follow all label instructions... Including watering for several minutes to move herbicide into soil and create a layer that prevents weed seed germination. Lasts 3-6 months per application. Great product!

Best Pre-Emergent Out There
By Josh on 03/18/2023
I live in on the Central Coast in CA and goosegrass is a plague. I've had several lawns get overrun and it's almost impossible to keep out due to the high winds and hundreds of thousands of seeds each plant drops. I've used this for going on three years now with two applications a year and I don't have a single goosegrass plant in either of my lawns. This stuff is basically a miracle and also works great for clover, dandelions, crabgrass, and everything else. Heavily recommend this product and I'll continue to use this for years to come.
Dandelions and clover take over our grass areas by mid july every year. This is the first year I applied amine 400 so right now there are no signs of either popping up again.

Recently seeded a new dichondra lawn last fall. Problem is I have much poa annua (bluegrass); little bitter cress; and creeping charlie invading my dichondra. Can you recommend any post-emergent herbicides that can be used now while weeds are active? Also, are there any pee-emergent products that are safe on a dichondra lawn? If so, what time of year is best to apply? Your thoughts and suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Since Dichondra grass is a very sensitive grass and you do not ever want to use a herbicide containing 2-4D on it, it can be difficult to find the right products to recommend. For best results as a post emergent, it is recommended that you pull weeds by hand. Bensumec 4LF Herbicide is labeled to treat poa annua and has been proven very effective. Please read page 2 of the Bensumec 4LF label for detailed application instructions. Hope this helps and please let me know if there is anything else I can do to assist you.

Typically you want to mow the lawn at least twice before applying herbicides such as Bensumec 4LF to be sure the grass is well established and there are no seeds left to germinate.

The LF in Bensumec 4LF Herbicide stands for "liquid flowable." It refers to the fomulation of the product. More information about this product can be found on the product label.
