Bifen IT is labeled to be used in poultry houses and chicken pens so it should not harm your chickens even if they eat the grass or bugs. The small amount of active ingredient is only enough to kill a small insect. You must make sure your chickens are out of the area while you apply Bifen and then they can return to the area as soon as it is dry. Keep in mind that this product cannot be broadcasted where chickens wil graze.

We generally recommend using a pyrethroid such as Bifen IT or Permethrin SFR as a preventative treatment in late spring/summer before the egg hatches to protect trees. If trees are badly infested, then they should be removed and either chipped or burned.

An insecticide such as Bifen IT can be mixed with a herbicide, however, we would not recommend mixing it with a surfactant. Anytime a product does not require a surfactant, we do not recommend mixing it with anything that does. If you choose to proceed, make sure you do a jar test to see how they react together. If they separate, change colors, or any other chemical reactions, they will not work together.
