Are Bifen Granules harmful to kittens over 8 weeks old?
I feed feral cats and kittens. The ferals have brought fleas to my yard and I need to treat it.
    A

  • Asked by Ashlee from Argyle, Texas

    Q
We are using Bifen Granules to kill armyworms, will it kill them? How soon will it work?
We followed the directions for treating our lawn with Bifen granules following a notable infestation and movement of armyworms across our property. It's been 12 hours since the product was watered in, and we are not seeing any improvement. The armyworms are just as active and just as plentiful. Is it possible the product was bad?
    A

Bifen L/P Insecticide Granules are labeled for armyworms and will do a great job controlling this pest. When treating for armyworms to ensure optimum control, irrigate the treated area with up to 0.1 inches of water immediately after application to activate (release from the granule) the insecticide. This product is not one that will kill the listed pests on contact.  It will take time. There are several factors like the severity of an infestation that will play a part in how long it takes to gain complete control. It could possibly take a few weeks for full control. The product will leave a residual that lasts in the soil for 2-3 months.

  • Asked by Casey

    Q
Will the Bifen Granules treat springtails in the whole lawn?
Will my lawn be safe for kids to run and play on couple days after the application?
    A
Bifen Granules recently had a product label change and the new label no longer lists springtails as a target pest. We recommend Demand G Granules to control springtails and they can be used as a perimeter application or over your entire lawn. Children can safely return to the treated area after it is completely dry.

  • Asked by Harlan from Phoenix, Az

    Q
Can I use Bifen L/P Granules on the the perimeter gravel around my house?
I'm an overkill kind of guy. I use Cy-kick as a perimeter defense, but was wondering if I can use this in the rest of my gravel yard (2 inch depth of gravel on top of Arizona dirt) to further discourage crawling things? If so, do I just leave it on or water it in? Knowing what I want to accomplish, is there a better solution?
    A

Yes, you can absolutely use the Bifen LP Granules on your rock landscaping for further control. Water it in with roughly 1/2 rainfall equivalent and it will slowly break down over about 2 months or so to give continuous insect control. Many customers do the same thing you are with spraying around the foundation as it gives you the ability to get vertical surface treatment and any bushes that may be around as well as long term protection further out with the granules.

    Q
Can Bifen LP Granules be dissolved in a sprayer and applied in that fashion?
    A

Bifen Granules should never be applied through any sprayer of any sort. This is a granule that should be applied with a spreader only and once applied to the yard watered in by sprinkler or irrigation or light rain to activate it. These are granules that are designed to break down slowly over time and last over a period of 2-3 months dependent on weather over that time frame. If you wish to spray an insecticde on your lawn you should use Bifen I/T which is a liquid concentrate product forumlated for that use.

Will Bifen L/P Insecticide Granules kill fire ants?
    A

Yes, Bifen L/P Insecticide Granules is labeled to control fire ants. According to the product label, the best control will be achieved by using broadcast treatments in combination with mound drenches. It is critical to water before treatments if the soil is dry. Apply up to 0.4 lb AI/A when making broadcast applications. When treating mounds apply ½ a cup of granules per mound and drench the mound with 1-2 gallons of water. A four-foot diameter around the mound should also be treated.

  • Asked by Martin from Jacksonville, Fl
    07/06/2015
    Q
I am currently treating for roaches. Do I need additional products besides Bifen Granules?
I am currently treating inside my home with fumigation. Bifen Granules are being used around the perimeter of my home, but we still have lot of roaches inside the home, even after I have fumigated. Do I need to open every electrical outlet and put powder pesticide inside?
    A

We recommend to continue using the Bifen L/P Granules for outdoors to protect your lawn from a broad range of insects. We do recommend treating in your wall voids and behind your outlets with an insecticide dust that will leave a long residual such as Delta Dust. It is water resistant and will last up to 7 months. To do a complete treatment we recommend our Roach Control Kit Rotation A. This kit comes with several products that should be used together to eliminate roach infestations.

If you have any other question in regards to roach control, please review Cockroach Treatment Guide

  • Asked by Joel from Howland, Me
    05/22/2018
    Q
    Is Bifen harmful to bees?
    A

Bifen Granules should not affect the bees as long as they do not land on the soil/areas treated with it.  Though it is a non-selective insecticide which means that any insect that is contacted with the insecticide will be killed. You can help limit this effect by only applying the product when bees are not currently visiting the area that needs to be treated.

  • Asked by Joy from Raleigh, Nc
    06/28/2013
    Q
To kill and control ants, should I put the ant bait stations down first?
Or do the granules go down first or should I put them down at the same time?
    A
We would not recommend applying Bifen Granules in the locations where you are setting the bait stations. This may interfere with the bait attractants Please find our article " Advantages of Ant Bait" for more information. Now if you are using a bait station that is not on the ground like Ant NO More, you can apply Bifen near the stations and you would want to apply the granular first.

    Q
I have a dog, I was told to spray water after application in my yard, the bag said not to? What should I do?
My local do it yourself pest control said to add water to kill adult fleas, but the bag said no? What should I do, I don't want to hurt my dog.
    A
Bifen Granules should be broadcast in the lawn and then watered in and dried before the dog returns to the treated areas. Once the area is completely dried it will be pet safe.
