Bifen L/P Insecticide Granules does include armyworms as a target pest on the label. Application rate of 1.15 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. To ensure optimum control when treating for armyworms, irrigate the treated area with up to 0.1 inches of water immediately after application to activate the insecticide.
While the Bifen L/P Insecticide Granules is a great product for armyworms, you will not get a lot of coverage from it. However, the liquid version Bifen IT would be a great alternative for armyworm control and would also cover more area.
For low or general maintenance applications, Bifen IT is applied at 0.18 - 0.25 fluid oz in 1 gallon of water per 1000 sq. ft (8 fl oz to 11 fl oz in 44 gallons of water per acre).
For severe/higher populations or when grass is taller than 1 inch, apply Bifen IT at 1 fl oz in 1-2 gallons of water per 1000 sq ft (44 fl oz in 44 to 88 gallons of water per acre).
Please view the product label for more information.
Bifen L/P Insecticide Granules are applied using a lawn spreader to dry turf then immediately watered in with atleast 0.5 to 1 inch of rainfall or irrigation. Once the granules have disolved into the soil, it is safe for childen, pets and wildlife that may enter the treated area. This product could be a hazard to birds if the dry granule is swallowed but once they are watered any risk would not be an issue.
Since your specific spreader is not included on the label for Bifen L/P Insecticide Granules, you will need to calibrate your spreader. You can view our helpful instructional video on How to Calibrate a Lawn Spreader by clicking here.
The Bifen L/P Insecticide Granules are not labeled for earwigs. Talstar XTRA Granules would be an alterntative for a granule insecticide or the liquid concentrate Bifen IT. Both are labeled for earwigs.

Bifen L/P Insecticide Granules is applied at 1.15lbs per 1000 sq ft for armyworms (50lbs per acre). You would use 16lbs to treat 14,000 sq ft for armyworms specifically.

Please view our Armyworm Treatment Guide for more information.

We also like to let our customers know that the Cicada Killer wasps are beneficial insects that provide free pest control for a couple of months each year. Cicada killer wasps paralyze and provision their burrows with other insects to feed their young. The beneficial Cicada killer wasps, while large and intimidating to see, are mostly harmless and there have been very few reports of anyone getting stung by just being near them. In most cases where a sting was reported, the wasps were being held or molested in some way. Cicada Killer Wasp stings are also reported to be almost painless.
Talstar works well for both the mature and the immature spider mites. It provides optimal spider mite control when applied during spring to mid-summer. Higher application rates and/or more frequent treatments may be required for acceptable spider mite control during mid to late-summer. The addition of a surfactant or horticultural oil may increase the effectiveness of Talstar. Talstar applications may be rotated with other products that have different modes of action in control programs that are designed to manage resistance by two-spotted spider mites. Avid 0.15 Miticide is another product that can be used for spider mites. Mix with water and apply as a foliar spray to obtain uniform coverage. For mites, apply when mites first appear and repeat as necessary to maintain control. Consult your local Cooperative Extension Service for resistance management recommendations in your region.

We apologize, but we don't have the exact spreader setting for your model spreader. The easiest way to determine the correct setting to apply Bifen Granules is as follows: If you need to use 3lbs of product per 1,000 sq ft you would add 3 lb of product to spreader, start with a medium setting, then apply product to a 20 x 50 ft area (1,000 sq ft). If you have product left, your setting is too low. If you run out of product, your setting is too high. We have a calibration video here or you can consult with the manufacturer of the spreader for details on the setting.
