To maximize efficacy against subsurface pests, apply Bifen XTS with a non-ionic surfactant in enough water to ensure the spray penetrates to soil-thatch matrix. Bifen XTS is mixed at 1/6 fl oz to 1/3 fl oz per gallon of water per the label.
Bifen XTS is labeled for carpenter ants. Bifen XTS will eliminate carpenter ants that come into contact with treated surfaces. Termidor SC is the more popular choice for carpenter ant control because it is non-repellent, has a delayed reaction kill and has a transfer effect. This means that the ants cannot detect that an area has been sprayed and cannot avoid the treated area, as they walk over the area they pick small particles of Termidor SC up on their body and inadvertently carry back to the colony spreading it to other ants.
