Bifen XTS should not be applied at this time of year directly to azaleas for aphid and lace bug control. It is an oil based product that could damage the plants if not applied in cooler temperatures. We would recommend that you use a water base product that will be gentle on these plants and apply in the evening or early in the morning such as Bifen IT. Dominion 2L Termiticide Concentrate should be applied as a drench around the base of the shrubs/bushes in no less than 10 gallons of water per 1000 square feet. Direct application to the root area is best for lacebugs and aphids.
Bifen XTS can be applied once a month to the listed exterior areas.
Bifen XTS is labeled for both tent and webworm caterpillars. You will use 0.07-0.15 fl oz per 1000 square feet. This generally mixes in 1-2 gallons of water. This can be done every 21 days as needed.
Two insecticides, like Bifen XTS and Permtherin SFR 36.8%, should not be mixed together. They're both synthetic pyrethroids and creating such a mixture could be too strong and backfire, causing insects to avoid the treated areas. Tekko Pro IGR, however, can be mixed with either of these insecticides. Although Bfien XTS would be the better option in treating chiggers, mosquitoes, fire ants and fleas.
According to the Bifen XTS product label for budworms on ornamentals, you would use 0.26-1.28 ounces per every 10 gallons of water.
The rate for Bifen XTS for wasps is 1/3 oz. per gallon of water. You can find complete application instructions on the product label.
There would be no valid reason for mixing Bifen XTS with Talstar P or Tengard. Mixing 2-3 insecticides together does not make either stronger and can contaminate an area making it highly repellent so that insects will avoid it and neither can do their job of killing the insects. If you want a faster knockdown product, you can add something like Exciter.
Bifen XTS is a great product choice for mosquito control. It will last outdoors for 4-8 weeks, depending on rainfall and UV rays in the area the product is applied.
The most important thing to remember when treating for mosquitoes is that they hang out on the underside of leaves and shrubs. You should treat all shrubs, bushes and trees, remembering to not only treat the main bush or shrub but also the underside of the leaves. The product is best applied with a mist blower or a hang pump sprayer. Mosquitoes lay their eggs in standing water, so if there are any areas of standing water where you are treating, those should be treated as well with BTI Mosquito Dunks or Altosid Pro-G Mosquito Larvicide.

Either sprayer or mister application would be effective with either product as long as the application is thorough. Oil-based products such as Bifen XTS can stain some surfaces. This is not usually a concern in most areas outside, but you should use caution when treating around the siding of a home. Most oil-based products such as Bifen XTS do have a "chemical" odor but it is not especially strong.
Bifen XTS will have a residual of about 4-8 weeks depending on rain and UV rays in the given area. Talstar P has an outdoor residual of approximately 30 days depending on rain and UV rais in the given area.

Bifen XTS cannot be used in a fogger. It should be applied with a pump sprayer or mist blower.
Bifen XTS is not labeled for corn borers. We apologize, but unfortunately we do not carry anything that is labeled for this pest. We would suggest that you contact your local cooperative extension office to see what they recommend.
Bifen XTS can be applied outdoors only. Bifen XTS is labeled for springtails and should do a great job for you outside. Bifen IT is labeled for interior crevice applications for springtails, ants, crickets and other insects.. Depending on how healthy the springtail is and how long it spends on a surface treated by the Bifen IT, will depend on how long it actually takes for each individual one to die. It could be hours or even a day. Also, if you are not treating the main nest, and only the satellite colony, you are only be temporarily fixing your problem. More will appear as they continue to migrate and you will need to fix the moisture issue in your home that is attracting the springtails as well. Until the moisture is gone or the main nest is found and eliminated, you will have an ongoing battle with the pest.
The shelf life of Bifen XTS is 3-5 years provided it is stored at room temperature with no extreme heat or cold and no moisture gets in the bottle. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.
Neither Bifen IT or Bifen XTS are true repellents that keep mosquitoes or other bugs away away, but it will kill those that come into contact with a treated surface long enough to receive a lethal dose. Key with mosquitoes is to apply to the underside of the leaves of trees/bushes where the adults lay during the day as well to the grass for added protection. After doing this you could notice a difference within a few days. To better repel mosquitoes and a few others you can use something like the Mosquito Barrier or Mosquito X Ultra.
You can use granules in the yard to help with scorpions food source or Bifen IT inside as a second layer of protection in addition to the Bifen XTS outside, though you could just use the XTS inside in cracks and crevices instead. XTS should be applied once a month outside and if inside once every 90 days. We do also have a great guides here for treatment of scorpions.
Bifen XTS will not harm pets or animals when used as directed on the product label. All pets and people (except for the applicator) should be out of the area while the application is being made, and they can return as soon as the treated area is dry.
Bifen XTS is labeled for chiggers. You will use 1/6 fl. oz. per gallon of water. This can be used every 30 days outdoors. Chiggers normally prefer moist habitats such as swamps and bogs, rotten logs and stumps.
