    Q
    Scorpions
    Will the CRA kill scorpions?
    A

Bifen XTS is labeled to treat for Scorpions outside the perimeter of the home. Mix 1/6 fl oz -1/3 fl oz with 1 gallon of water, apply to a 10 foot wide band of soil andvegetation around and next to the structure, and treat the foundation of the structure to a height of 2 to 3 feet. Use a spray volume of 2 to 10 gallons of dilution per 1000 sq. ft. Trim back any bushes, shrubs or trees so they are touching the side of the house. This will limit the insects access to the house from ground only where they will come into contact with the active ingredient, Bifenthrin.

  • Asked by Selin from Washington, Dc
    04/13/2018
    Q
Will Bifen XTS kill bees on decks?
I have many bees swarming in my wood deck. Can I spray directly on the wood? Alternatively, what would be the best approach?
    A

Bifen XTS is labeled for treating direct application to openings in the ground, bushes and cracks and crevices where bees, wasps, hornets, and yellow jackets are at rest or nest. Bifen XTS will also leave an oily residue in the areas that you spray, including your wood deck. If you are treating for carpenter bees, we would recommend to use the Carpenter Bee Control Kit.

  • Asked by Larry from Salida, Co
    04/01/2018
    Q
Can I apply Bifen XTS for clover mites inside and outside?
After a well known professional company sprayed 5X I still have clover mites.
    A

Bifen IT can be used inside and outside. Bifen XTS is oil based and can only be applied outdoors. Bifen IT can be used to kill clover mites and will leave a residual of up to 30 days outside.  It will not repel them from the area but instead will continue to kill those that contact a treated surface after application.  We have a guide here with more information on treating and preventing this pest.  Pets need to be kept out of the area while products are being applied but can return once all surfaces are dry.

  • Asked by Tom from Ligonier, Pa
    01/17/2018
    Q
Which would you suggest for treating springtails?
    A

Bifen XTS can be applied outdoors only. Bifen XTS is labeled for springtails and should do a great job for you outside.  Bifen IT is labeled for interior crevice applications for springtails. Depending on how healthy the springtail is and how long it spends on a surface treated by the Bifen IT, will depend on how long it actually takes for each individual one to die. It could be hours or even a day. Also, if you are not treating the main nest, and only the satellite colony, you are only be temporarily fixing your problem. More will appear as they continue to migrate and you will need to fix the moisture issue in your home that is attracting the springtails as well. Until the moisture is gone or the main nest is found and eliminated, you will have an ongoing battle with the pest.

  • Asked by Robert from Nc
    10/21/2017
    Q
Can I use a liquid like Bifen XTS to treat surface feeding insects in the lawn and then also use a systemic granule after for grubs?
Is it ok to use low volume water to treat surface feeders, such as armyworms...then granules to kill mole crickets or grubs?
    A

As long as the two products you plan to use do not have any restrictions on the label stating that you cannot use them within a certain time frame of another insecticide, you can certainly use both on the yard to target two different pests. Normally we would suggest using the systemic granules for grubs first since those will need to be watered in to be activated. And then several hours later once it has dried or the following day you could come back with the Bifen XTS or other spray product to control the surface insects.

  • Asked by E from Alba, Tx
    10/17/2017
    Q
Can Bifen XTS be used around lakes and ponds without harming fish?
    A

Bifen XTS should not be applied within 25 ft from a lake/pond containing fish. It is extremely toxic to aquatic life. Do not apply when weather conditions favor drift from treated areas. Care should be used when spraying to avoid fish and reptile pets in/around ornamental ponds.

Please help... I was told by our local farm and feed that I could use this indoors on hardwood floors for fleas. I did. What will happen? Do I need to clean it up any particular way, or can I? Is it safe for my family and pets to return to the home? Please help, panicking... thank you

  • Asked by Tom from Youngstown, Oh
    09/30/2017
    Q
How should I mix Bifen XTS to kill bag worms on arborvitae?
Also, how often should I spray to control the bag worms?
    A

Bifen XTS is mixed at 0.03 to 0.13 fl oz per gallon of water for bag worms.  You can apply once a month.  Keep in mind that once the bagworms have formed their bag, there is little you can do for control other than to physically remove them.  Applications should typically start in April and continue monthly through June. Be sure foliage is sprayed thoroughly to the point of runoff to achieve adequate coverage.
