Bayer Advanced Home Pest & Germicide RTU does not repel insects nor keep them away. It is only meant to provide a long residual to continue to kill insects that contact a treated surface after application. The label does state a disclosure that the up to 12 months is only for German cockroaches, black carpenter ants, and house crickets on non-porous surfaces. You can apply once a month outside and once every 90 days inside, if needed.
Bayer Advanced Home Pest & Germicide RTU Spray around baseboards, into cracks and crevices and other places where insects live and hide (under sinks, cabinets, refrigerators, damp areas, etc.) until surfaces are wet
*Avoid excessive wetting of linoleum, asphalt tiles or plastic, *Allow surfaces to remain wet for at least 5 minutes
*Do not apply as a broadcast spray. We do offer products for indoor flea control such as our Indoor Flea/Tick Kit. Please take a few moments to review our treatment article on How to Get Rid of Fleas for a successful eradication program.
The time in which Bayer Advanced Home Pest & Germicide RTU and most other residual insecticides kills a bedbug or any other pest is a large variable. It depends on how recently the product was sprayed, the dosage rate used on the label, how healthy or mature the bedbug was, and how long it spent on the treated surface to pick up product on its body. All of these factors play into the time of death of an insect which could be anywhere from minutes after getting the product on them, to a day or so for complete death of the individual insect. Bed bug treatments in total normally take a mininum of 4-5 treatments about every 7-10 days or until you can go 30 days consecutively with no bites or signs of live bed bugs. Please take a look at our guide on how to treat bedbugs here.
