Bird - Flite Xtra - Wide Spikes Kit With Bond is a popular and least conspicuous bird spike product on the market. It is perfect if you have problems with large birds like pigeons, gulls and others that can leave messy droppings and debris on your building. It is good for all pressure levels (perfect for medium to heavy bird pressure) and perfect to put on architectural ledges, chimneys, pipes, signs, street lights, small equipments, steel beams, roof peaks and even on boats.
This bird deterrent will not harm the bird's feet but will alarm them whenever they try to rest on the ledges. It is made of stainless steel and polycarbonate material that is built to last, and doesn’t brittle in age. It is very flexible and it is light enough to carry around for installation. Though the spike is made of stainless steel, like other Bird Barrier spikes, this product literally disappears from a distance. This is an easy-to-install bird deterrent and you can easily store other spikes that are not in use in a small space.
Bird-Flite comes with a plastic base with stainless steel spikes.
Bird-Flite - Bird Spikes - Xtra-Wide has a length 12", Width 8", and is made for ledges 7-10”. Xtra-Wide option is great for covering more spaces with less spikes.
Wide wires are spaced 1.5 inches on center—far enough apart to repel pigeons, yet avoid entrapping debris, like paper, twigs, etc.
Xtra-Wide spikes are blunted, preventing injury to birds or unsuspecting workmen. Birds typically hover above products before loafing so they will not be harmed.
This Xtra-Wide version is 8 inches wide by 1 foot long and comes in 4 different kit options:

Roosting birds not only litter your property with debris and droppings but attract other pests and insects as well. The most effective way to prevent bird damage is to deter them from landing on your property in the first place. Bird prevention spikes are Bird Barrier's most popular product for bird control. Bird Barrier bird spikes are discreet, humane and effective deterrents that create a barrier against birds seeking a place to perch or roost.
Constructed with stainless steel rods set on a UV-resistant polycarbonate base, these bird spikes provide a durable and versatile solution for invasive birds. Bird Barrier's easy-to-install spikes can be attached with nails, screws or adhesive. From bird spikes for small birds to pigeon spikes that deter gulls and blackbirds as well, an array of sizes ensures that you'll find solutions for every type of bird. Bird Barrier's bird control spikes feature sleek, innovative designs that makes them virtually disappear from distances as near as 20 feet.
Whether installed on roof parapets, window sills, ledges, signs or chimneys, their flexible bird control spikes conform to the shape of your application. Spikes are shipped in space-saving cases that contain rolled up cylinders of spike strips for easy application. Each section can be cut to accommodate any architectural size, shape and configuration. Bird Barrier offer spikes specifically designed for gutters as well, with detachable, clip-on installation for easy application and cleaning.
Unlike some bird prevention spikes in the market, their bird control spikes are blunted to prevent injury to birds yet are strong enough not to bend under pressure. Whether you need a short length of narrow bird spikes for small birds or a 100-foot length of pigeon spikes that can deter an entire flock, you can rest assured that you'll resolve your bird infestation problem without causing harm to nuisance birds.
Installation
When installing Bird-Flite to a ledge, beam or pipe, keep two things in mind for a successful application:
Product Placement
Fastening
Bird-Flite can be glued or screwed to the ledge. If screwing we recommend three screws per foot. But using Bird Barrier Bond is by far the preferable technique; it is far faster, and actually more secure, as the entire strip is fastened securely to the ledge.
Using Bird Barrier Bond
The one-foot section of Bird-Flite should receive four to five equally spaced marble-sized dabs. You do not want to run a continuous bead as you will create a water barrier. Apply the four to five dabs per foot. Then simply place the strip in the correct position and press firmly to the ledge. You want the Bond to come out the sides and squirt up through the screw holes.
Bond Coverage using Bird Barrier Bond
10.2 oz cartridge = 30-35 feet. 3.75 oz tube = 12 feet
Using Self-Tapping Screws
Bird-Flite can be installed using small self-tapping screws. We recommend two to three screws per foot, not one screw per hole. If you are using a drill motor, you should obtain a long 1/4” magnetic nut driver (at least 5” long). Make sure you don’t keep the drill motor running when the screw seats down on the plastic or you will strip out the hole or break the Bird-Flite base.
Installation Time Estimate
One to two feet per minute depending upon access
