    Q
What will happen if I used Bonide Fruit Tree Spray on pears?
Already sprayed and it is not for pears.
    A

While Bronide Fruit Tree Spray Concentrate is not specifically labeled for use on pear trees, it should not harm them. We would just recommend not eating anything from the tree that was sprayed for at least one growing season. For future treatments, we recommend using Bonide Citrus, Fruit and Nut Orchard Spray Concentrate or Ferti-lome Triple Action.

    Q
What do you recommend for pear scab now that pear is no longer listed on Bonide Fruit Tree Spray Concentrate?
For years I've used Fruit Tree spray 4-122-8590 to control but never eradicate pear scab. A few years ago I started using just Captan 4-459 because I believed using just a fungicide would be less harmful to pollinators. Now I find out that neither is approved for edible pear. What do I use?
    A

You can use Bonide Citrus, Fruit, and Nut Orchard Spray or Triple Action which are both labeled to treat scab on fruit trees including pears.  Avoid spraying when pollinators are in the area to limit contact.

    Q
If I mistakenly sprayed Bonide Fruit Tree Spray for three consecutive weeks on shrubs that had a disesae last year, will they recover on their own?
Some of the leaves have the burnt look. If I don't spray again, will the shrubs recover on their own?
    A

On ornamental evergreens, you should not make more than 4 applications of Bonide Fruit Tree Spray Concentrate, and they should be at least 7-10 days apart. You may want to avoid spraying shrubs when temperatures are over about 90 degrees to reduce risk of injury, as well. Be sure that you water the plants well and avoid putting extra stress on them to help them recover. Please refer to the complete product label for complete application instructions.

    Q
When is the best time to apply Bonide Fruit Tree Spray on apple trees?
    A

Bonide Fruit Tree Spray Concentrate is labeled to protect apple trees from listed insects and disease so you would want to apply before they become an issue.  After you apply the Bonide Fruit Tree Spray Concentrate it will kill for up to 1 week. If insects or disease is still present, you can apply a 2nd time. Bonide recommends alternating insecticides when treating to help prevent resistancy to active ingredients. Q
What does "petal fall" mean pertaining to using Bonide Fruit Tree Spray Concentrate
Does petal fall mean the blooms have fallen from the tree and you can spray the tree at this time?
    A

Petal fall is last stage of flower development, when the petals have fallen from 90% of the trees blossom.  You can apply Bonide Fruit Tree Spray Concentrate from the fall through the spring. It can be applied any time from the dormant stage, when there is no growth, up to the petal fall stage when the last pedals have fallen off. The timing and usage rates would depend what type of tree you are treating, and the stage it is in at the time. In most cases, this product is labled to be used twice a year. However, with a few types of fruits, it can be applied more often.
