If it's over 90 degrees in the day, could I spray Bonide Systemic Insect Control on my roses in the cooler evenings?

    Q
Is temperature a factor when applying Bonide Systemic Insect Control?
    A

There are no temperature restrictions when applying Bonide Systemic Insect Control, however it is always recommended to apply early in the morning or later in the evening so as to not be applying the product in direct sunlight or when termpertures are at their hottest during the day. Q
Can I use the Bonide Systemic insect control to prevent insects from damaging my trees?

  • Asked by Lisa from Mapleton, Mn
    04/08/2017
    Q
Is the Bonide Systemic Insect Control ok to use inside with indoor animals? Does it harm animals?
And it's ok to spray inside while it doesn't harm humans breathing it in? Thanks.
    A

Bonide Systemic Insect Control should only be used outdoors around roses, flowers, ornamentals, shrubs and shade trees. Hi Yield Indoor Outdoor 10% Permethrin would be a better option for indoor and outdoor use for many insects. Be sure not to apply while animals are in the area. Once the product has dried completely, it is safe for pets to return to the area. This will last 30 days outdoors and 90 days indoors.

    Q
Will Bonide Systemic Insect Control kill iris borers?
    A

Bonide Systemic Insect Control and similar products are not labeled to control Iris Borers. This can be a difficult pest to control on infested plants, so the best prevention is good sanitation and elimination of infested plants. You can use Neem Oil and/or Evergreen Pyrethrum Dust to treat plants before egg hatch of Iris Borer. This article has more information about this common pest.
