    My Bora-Care has crystalized and comes out ofthe solution in the bottle. How do I reconstitute it?
    A
    Bora-Care is a very viscous liquid by nature and it will stay that way as a concentrate. When you mix it with water we always recommend using hot water and stirring well before use in a sprayer or with a brush as this will thin it out for the application process. As far as the crystalized substance goes I believe it has something to do with the air mixing with the ingredients over time but I will check to make sure. The product should be good so long as it is stored properly in a temperature-stable environment out of direct sunlight.

    How long do I need to let Bora Care dry before I cover with insulation and drywall?
    A
    Yes, once the Boracare application is dry, typically in about 24-48 hours. Then you will be fine to add insulation and drywall.

    No, Boracare cannot be mixed with stain, but you can apply stain after applying Boracare.

    After removing infested bamboo flooring, will Bora-care suffice to treat subflooring and any other damage?
    Engineered bamboo flooring so sanding is not a good option. If seeking to remove infested bamboo flooring completely to treat subflooring with Bora-care should this suffice from a treatment perspective where we could replace it with new engineered flooring or tile and which would you recommend?

    Bore-Care is the ideal product for any raw wood within the structure of a home including the wood subflooring. This will help control any within the wood currently, as well as protect against any future infestations for the life of the wood. Use a 1:1 mix ratio of water to Boracare concentrate and spray, paint, or roll the solution on the wood surfaces on as many sides as you have access to for best penetration.

    Bora care inside a wall cavity with the wood lather
    I am trying to figure out how to foam an entire wall cavity. I understand I can spray the top of a stud by drilling an access hole and foaming in the direction of said stud and letting it run all the way down the stud, hopefully. But my issue is that I have tongue and groove walls in a historic home. I need a reliable way to actually get the foam to touch every inch of the wall cavity. Is there anything that would produce enough foam to fill a 15-inch x 3-inch x 13-foot wall cavity? I am trying to protect in the future, so the Termidor foam doesn't do what I need, that is for active infestations.

    Boracare can be used as a foam. You should only be concerned about getting the foam near the wood and studs.  Typically when a company foams walls, they drill holes at the top of the ceiling on either side of the studs and foam down the stud from the ceiling.  This way you have gravity working in your favor and you are getting the foam against the wood which is all that matters. You will need a foaming agent and a poly foamer. You will mix 2 gallons of hot water with 1 gallon of Boracare.

    What happens if I install drywall over treated wood that may not be completely dry?
    A

    We would recommend to try and wait longer than 24 hours to seal up the wall. This will allow for the product to better soak into the wood. Since Bora-Care alone does not treat for mold if you seal up moisture, mold could be a concern.

    Can you kiln dry wood that is treated with boracare?
    I have active powder post beetles in fresh milled spalted birch wood. You cant kiln dry fresh milled wood so I treated with Boracare. I want to kiln dry in about 6 months to prevent and larvae from emerging in the next years. I do understand the larvae will die but still might emerge. Can I kiln dry wood treated with boracare?

    Yes, per the manufacturer Nisus, Boracare can be applied to kiln-dried wood or prior to being placed in a kiln. We would recommend allowing the application of BoraCare to completely dry and absorb throughout the wood before placing it in a kiln.

    When spraying the underside of the roof iwill Bora Care damage any asphalt underlayment that is exposed to the
    I have a flat roof and removed the drywall ceiling to find the roof boards are spaced apart by an inch or less and I can see the roofing underlayment. I want to protect the wood with Bora Care but don't want it to compromise the roofing material.
    A
    Bora-Care will only penetrate into the wood that is sprayed/brushed on directly.  It would not harm the underlayment.

    If bora care is used on cut logs being stored outside, is it safe to burn the logs and raw cut wood after treatment;

    Bora-Care is only used on cut timber used for building and would not be used on any firewood

    They will only tent both the house and garage..how long do I need to wait after the borate treatment?

    If using it in a home, specifically a small bedroom, what are the recommendations to prevent adverse health effects?
    Should we stay somewhere else for days? Have windows open for a certain length of time? Etc. I am pregnant and we also have a dog so trying to be safe.

    Bora-Care is a safe product and it is considered a green product as well.  Typically, it takes about an hour for the surface of the wood to dry.  After application has dried completely, it should be perfectly fine for children/pets/people to re-enter the treated surface area.     Can I bag furniture after using Bora-Care?
    We have a hutch that is infested with some kind of wood eating bug. We have the piece outside and have ordered Bora-Care. Unfortunately, we are leaving town for a few weeks right after we plan to treat the hutch. Can we put it in a XL plastic bag to prevent any bugs from getting into the house if they are not all eliminated? Will this be safe for the hutch or impact the effectiveness of the Bora-Care?

    Bora-Care has to be applied to raw wood. It would be better if it dried naturally first and then put in a bag.

    Can Bora-Care be used on the wood trim of my marble table without ruining the marble?
    I have an antique marble table with wood trim and I believe may have some pests feasting on the wood. Can I use this on the wood without runining the marble top?

    Bora-Care is only for use on raw unfinished wood, so the wood trim would have to have no stain, paint, or finish on it of any kind for the Boracare to absorb. If the wood is raw, you can use a small paint brush to dip in the mixed solution to paint on the trim carefully to not overapply on the marble. Any of the Boracare that gets on the marble can be removed with a warm wet rag.

    Will it be harmful to inhabitants if I spray Bora-Care on every sq. inch of interior studs, joists, rafters, etc.?
    Found decade-old termite damage and current live termites. I replaced a bunch of lumber but still chasing them. I am removing all sheetrock to treat all wood. I'm applying a Termidor perimeter outside to kill the colony. I believe the queen is under my porch. Anyway, I'm worried that large amounts of Bora-Care applied in my home will be harmful to inhabitants.

    I'm building my house, about 1600sqft, with new construction what ratio of Bora-Care/Mold to water to use
    I'm building my house, about 1600sqft, once framing is done I'm planning to use Bora-Care with Mold treatment on all the wood framing. I see information about using 1:1 ratio with water but I also see 1:5. Which ratio should I use?

    An application of Bora-Care can be applied at the 1:1 ratio prior to applying the Bora-Care with Mold Care as directed. Be sure that the first application has dried first. The Bora-Care with Mold Care is mixed with 5 gallons of warm/hot water (as directed in the video here).

    Can bora care be used in a smoker? Also when sprayed on plywood (indoor cabinet) it leaves an oily surface. Is that normal? Does it dry out and then is it safe to put clothes back on the surface?

    Boracare cannot be used through any type of smoker or fogger equipment. Boracare is to be applied to raw unfinished wood only and can be applied with a paint brush, roller, or sprayer after the product has been thoroughly mixed in a bucket with water first. If your plywood cabinet has any finish on it, or there are heavy amounts of glue within the material, the Boracare will have trouble penetrating into it and can take longer to absorb, and may leave an oily film on the surface that may need to be cleaned and removed with a wet rag or sponge with hot water.
