    Q
Can someone please help? I live in Pennsylvania and I’m treating my home for powderpost beetles
I’m using a 1:1 ratio of bora care but still seeing evidence of active beetles. Just wondering if this is normal ?
    A

Yes, it is common to still see evidence after treatment with Bora-care.  The beetles lie dormant for years and once they wake up they start consuming the wood, which is when we see the sawdust material.  Now that it has been treated with Bora-care, once they consume the wood they will die.

    Q
Old railroad ties had poria last year. I will treat them with Bora-Care, but if they are outside in the rainy season....
I had to rip out half my pottery studio because mudslides clogged the crawl space underneath and poria fungus destroyed a lot of the structure. Now another structure is right by a retaining wall of railroad ties that had some fungus last year and dried out. one side of them is butted up to the dirt they are retaining, but my thought is to spray the exposed sides, then seal them 48 hours later. Will this keep the Bora Care protected from washing away?
    A

You will need to do 2 application of Bora-Care. After applying first coat you will wait 20 minutes and then add the second coat.

    Q
How hot does the water have to be to mix Bora-Care ?
    A

When mixing Bora-Care, it is recommended to use hot water to make it easier to dilute it. The water should not be scalding hot, it should be a warm/hot temperature that will also be safe in case it splatters. It is recommended to dilute in a bucket first before putting it into the sprayer. The solution should not clog the sprayer if it cools but it would be best to use the mixture within 24 hours and not store or leave product in the sprayer because of the possibility of it being clogged after a long period of time.
