Best non-toxic termite blocker.
By Robert on 06/16/2018
This Bora-Care is great stuff. I have recommended it to all my friends, neighbors and contractors. I recommended to a friend contractor and he used it on a new building wooden frame. He said it turned the new green 2x4 so hard after a month or so hard he could hardly drive a nail in them. I highly recommend this product. I trust it to do its job. Use hot water and a drill to mix it thoroughly.
Did not work!

Great product great customer service
By Tad on 01/04/2019
I purchased 4 gallons of bora care to spray around the foundation of my newly constructed home. This made 8 gallons and was very easy to apply. Delivery from do my own was quick and exactly as promised. This is my second purchase from do my own and I find this company to be exceptional in getting things to the customer as promised.
The best
By Omar on 01/08/2019
I tried many products available on the market to get rid of a huge termite infestation on my saiboat but nothing worked. I was getting frustrated and almost paid a $1000 for a company to tent the boat and gas them. I thought I'll give bora Care a chance as my last resort. I followed the instructions and removed everything from my boat and sprayed every each and every wooden surface on the boat. It's been a couple of month and I haven't seen any activity since. The product doesn't have a smell and doesn't hurt anything. I'm now confident that the termites are gone for good.

It's the good stuff
By Jim on 03/01/2019
My second purchase. About 5 years ago I bought this and used it on exposed posts & beams in a timber framed structure that are sheltered from rain and off the ground, but exposed to the air. It stopped a powder post infestation DEAD with a single application. No odor, no fumes, no staining of the wood. Do be aware: this stuff is sticky and takes a while to mix with hot water. HEED the warnings about not trying to mix in the sprayer tank. I mix it with water in a 2-gallon bucket inside a 5-gallon bucket with a couple gallons of hot water in it - - - not a double boiler, but a double warmer. Now I'm using it on the joists under our deck.
Half the price of the local stores

I hope it was worth the special handling?
By Martin on 03/31/2019
Container was strong, but no special dispenser method. Just a pour spout for what reminded me of a clear pancake syrup. Instructions were good and I used a 1:1 mix. I would advise against residential sprayers, especially if the container tubing is too small in diameter. This stuff will clog quickly as it is very thick at 1:1. It is not meant to spray on any painted surface as it will stain. It also stays tacky wet for several days. It's gooey and will leave foot prints on your house floors from your shoes. Don't get it on wires or plastics. I'm not sure I would use again for remodel, but new construction or crawl space / attic applications (Bare Wood) I will. I just hope it works as the product boasts!
Penetrating Borax Based Wood Preservative
By Eric on 04/20/2019
This Borax/glycerin based water soluble wood preservative easily penetrates into the wood and provides an environmentally friendly solution. The glycerin helps wet the wood and increases the borax penetration. Once dry, common wood coatings or paints can be used. The product is excellent for historic structures including sills, beams and floors to stop and prevent powder post, termite, carpenter ant or other insect damage as well as a preventative against fungus and dry rot.
Excellent product, excellent service

I ordered this product for a new home construction - 1850 sq. ft. on a full basement (daylight walk-out basement) so abt 3700 sq feet total treated. It was a bit difficult to figure the product ratio and amount of product to order. I settled on one case of straight Bora-Care and one gallon of Bora Care with Mold prevention. I ordered in a crunch as the insulation guys were set to start on a Monday- siding was already on house - and so I needed to get it done on a Friday or Saturday before insulation went up. The product was less expensive with DoMyOwn than the big box stores and arrived very quickly. Upon delivery (on a thursday) the delivery guy realized that product was damaged in transit and had leaked. My secretary refused delivery. However, DoMyOwn shipped out another shipment immediately upon being notified by delievery service that product had been damaged and before I even realized the shipment had been declined. It arrived in time on Friday afternoon (I'm in North Georgia). I used 10 gallon kitchen trashcan to mix up using cordless drill with paddle mixer as demonstrated on videos I had seen. Used the Turf Dye (a little bit goes a long way). Mixed the mold care 2:1 and using a back pack sprayer I treated the inside of all basement exterior walls that were next to cement from floor to ceiling (as well as cement walls) - and all interior walls with plumbing floor to ceiling; and all other interior walls 2' up from cement floor. Had enough product for the entire job. Next I mixed straight Bora Care 1:1. Treated all main-floor walls and sheathing 2' up from floor. Had about a gallon left, so I went back to the basement and treated the spaces between floor joists that sit on top of the cement walls. I had just enough product left to spray the exterior of cement walls and some of the down stairs walls that looked like they might need a 1:1 instead of a 2:1 mixture. Be aware that the mold care product has tendency to foam up when mixing. Straight bora-care did not foam up as much as the mold care product. I completed the project by distributing a boric acid powder (hot shot maxx attrax) along the interior of all stud walls, interior and exterior ensuring to caulk at bottom of all stud wall plates. Did the boric acid due to presence of scorpions and carpenter ants in the woods where I'm building. A week later, I've noticed dead bugs all along the floor where they've crawled inside. I'm very pleased with the product.
Effective Wood Protection
By Monica on 06/25/2019
I have used Bora Cate on exposed wood ceiling and rafters of an old 1925 built storefront building converted into an apartment building. The unit was a large multi-purpose storage/workshop/loft apartment. The exposed ceiling and rafters were showing signs of termite activity. I sprayed and drenched the entire ceiling and rafters with Bora Care. Within 1-2 days there was zero termite activity. I love this product! I now use it on new and re-purposed building lumber for my off- grid building projects. Mix as directed and you'll have no problems.
Bora-Care
By Stanley on 06/29/2019
Shipping was super fast and the product arrived sooner than expected. Used a bucket with hot water and poured the Bora-Care into the water. Then used a paint paddle mixer in a drill to completely dissolve. Poured in a pump sprayer and applied to plates and studs in the wall. The Bora-Care is a very thick gooey liquid, so it is important to use hot water and mix or your pump sprayer will get clogged up. I won't know for some time whether this will keep termites from invading the wood structure. Fingers crossed.
Super Terrific Product
By John on 07/05/2019
This is the real deal. Stops rot, prevents new rot, kills and prevents termites, carpenter ants, etc. Money well spent. They don't recommend it, but I tested techo block pavers that had moss/weeds between the pavers, and I had a complete die off with no return. Any discoloration was a wet look that fully disappeared after two rains. On wood (cedar and pressure treated) there was zero discoloration. Perfect product

Boracare and Boracare with Mold-Care
By Wilson on 08/02/2019
I used the Boracare first and it was applied with a hand held sprayer. My crawl space is almost 100 linear feet and I was just shy of having enough to finish the block on a 10' section. Then I went over everything under there with the Boracare Mold-Care and had enough to make 2 coats on everything and enough left over to go over the 10' sections I left out with the first application of the the Boracare several times.

Affordable & Easy to use
By Kassy on 09/03/2019
I bought Bora-Care to spray down the wood in my old horse barn. Its affordable and easy to use. I was surprised to find that it is thick like soap. It took a little bit extra mixing in my hand pump sprayer but not too bad I cannot attest to the effectiveness of product yet as I am not currently having trouble; just used this product as a preventative as I have a known carpenter ant issue with some of my trees on my acreage.
Dry wood termites in live edge table
By Jon on 09/06/2019
Spent hours building oak live edge table to find out it was full of termites. Called exterminators and they gave me the run around tried to get me to sign contracts for service. Found this product, drilled holes on underside next to affected areas, applied 3 coats at 2:1 ratio to the unfinished underside, and now it's been almost a month without any new activity. Excellent product, didn't leave any stain marks to carpet or finished top.

Lightning service
By Brian on 09/06/2019
These guys are faster than black lightning. For powder post beetles Bora-Care is the industry, professional standard. The product is not available anywhere I could find over-the-counter. Good prices and excellent service. I had a mild infestation in a crawl space under a 500 square foot section of a house. Take time to prep your area for treatment such as remove insulation and clean dust off all horizontal surfaces so you do one thorough, effective job. Remove any items stored in the crawl space. Not fun work so you don't want to have do it again in a few years! I had about 55" of headroom in the crawl space so it wasn't too bad. Clean dust and cobwebs off all foundation vents so the space gets lots of fresh air. During prep and application I had two large fans in the crawl space hatch going full blast. Dust during prep and vapors during application were forced out the foundation vents. Work upwind of air movement. They recommend a flat fan type nozzle on your garden spray jug. I found that caused dripping and went back to a heavy mist type spray nozzle that I held about 2' from the wood. At the least wear coveralls, gloves, dust mask, and large droopy hat. Keep your ventilation fans going at all times!
Review of domyown.com
By Caleb on 09/18/2019
Impossible to review the product having only just put it to use. Check back in 10-20 years for an update on its effectiveness. I'm happy assuming it's every bit as good as everyone says it is. I will say that domyown.com had the best price I could find, shipped promptly, and delivered the product I ordered. That's worth 5 stars.
