First timer crawl space treatment

Product was shipped and delivered quickly. Mixing/diluting product (1 gal of product produces 5gal after proper dilution) was easy and so was application using pump sprayer. I did not purchase dye to show where I had sprayed. If you are spraying over a couple of days, the dye would be helpful to prevent unnecessary double spraying an area that was treated previously. On subsequent trips under the house, areas that I had sprayed the day prior showed no further signs of mold/fungus. I used a full face respiratory which was very beneficial. If treating in a crawl space, I would recommend traveling to the furthest point you will need to treat and work your way out as you spray. This will prevent crawling through any spray that fell on vapor barrier, and it will prevent any that happens to drip down from joist. Otherwise, exposure through skin absorption. Also know that fumes from the Mold Care will make its way into the living areas treated below. So isolate those rooms by closing doors/opening windows, or go run errands for an hour or so until the product has dried under the house and fines have dispersed. Product did exactly as stated. It was a learning experience for me and I will be purchasing the product again for further treatments.

Yellow mold

Easy to use, hope effective against wood fungus on deck

(Cannot yet review efficacy of product as we have just applied it, but previous use of Bora-Care alone has been effective). Easy to mix with hot water and drill mixing attachment. Recommend mixing outside as vapors are somewhat smelly. Hoping this will solve a stubborn wood fungus problem on our deck supports. We have replaced the affected wood and treated the entire structure because we determined the problem was caused by an affected shipment of lumber, not by a ground contact/ventilation issue. We brushed the product on (gloves, goggles and PPE in place!) and it was very easy to work with, sort of acts like a wood stain as it's brushed. Note: mixture is STICKY as it dries. Mfg recommends spraying the product. DoYourOwn was very quick to ship and product was well packaged to avoid damage.

What a savings

Had 2 quotes to apply this as a preventive measure to a new house. Both quotes were over $1300 After buying this chemical and all the PPE and application tools I'm In it for $400. It took 2 hours of my time and we are now covered It is easy to apply and my wife is now happy that we are protected against termites and mold

Fantastic customer service

I have yet to use the product (bora-care with mold care) but do my own is just a distributor anyway.My review is of the customer service. FedEx apparently thought a neighbor needed this product more than I did so our "delivered" status meant that we never actually got the product. Lesson learned though, call FedEx right away because they try to get the driver to remember where s/he put it and they're more likely to remember if you do that promptly. Anyway, the DoMyOwn customer service team was responsive, personable, and direct with me. I called FedEx, made them aware of the effort and was told the Supplier had to take it from there. Instead of bogging me down with the details DoMyOwn shipped out a new order with no charge to me and (I assume) went to handle the FedEx claim without me having to deal with it. I loved that the emails with the product status from DoMyOwn don't come from a "do-not-reply" email address which made contacting DoMyOwn a cinch! I also called them and received a person without fighting an automated system for long at all. I would recommend buying products from this company without hesitation.

Useful Product-Would Use it Again

READ THE PRODUCT LABEL. The manufacturer knows how the product should be applied so their knowledge is crucial when making application plans. I saw this product used by Matt Risinger on his #RealRebuild. I figured I wanted to do the best possible job with my project so I shelled out the $$$. NOTE: the Bora-Care is VERY thick. It looks like Karo syrup, but is probably thicker. The Mold-Care seemed thicker than water, but not as thick as the Bora-Care. In Mr. Risinger's video he used a paint mixer to mix the product with water. One of the commenters recommended using warm water to aid the mixing process—the product label also makes this recommendation. Based on these suggestions I purchased Allway's 5 gallon mixer (HM5), poured hot water into my bucket, added the product and mixed at varying speeds for 5 minutes. I should've mixed with a slower drill speed. When the 5 minutes was up, the mix was very sudsy and had risen way up the bucket. I gave it a minute or two to settle back down, then I poured it into my sprayer. It seemed to have mixed up just fine in the hot/warm water, I didn't see any syrupy chunks, and it sprayed just fine through my sprayer. I am pleased with this product, though I wish it came in smaller sizes or the Mold-Care was sold as a stand alone. If using a small round sprayer - a la Chapin you might get the Allway HM5N (the narrow one) and just mix a small batch in the mixer itself. Haven't tried this, just a thought.

I ordered this product for a new home construction - 1850 sq. ft. on a full basement (daylight walk-out basement) so abt 3700 sq feet total treated. It was a bit difficult to figure the product ratio and amount of product to order. I settled on one case of straight Bora-Care and one gallon of Bora Care with Mold prevention. I ordered in a crunch as the insulation guys were set to start on a Monday- siding was already on house - and so I needed to get it done on a Friday or Saturday before insulation went up. The product was less expensive with DoMyOwn than the big box stores and arrived very quickly. Upon delivery (on a thursday) the delivery guy realized that product was damaged in transit and had leaked. My secretary refused delivery. However, DoMyOwn shipped out another shipment immediately upon being notified by delievery service that product had been damaged and before I even realized the shipment had been declined. It arrived in time on Friday afternoon (I'm in North Georgia). I used 10 gallon kitchen trashcan to mix up using cordless drill with paddle mixer as demonstrated on videos I had seen. Used the Turf Dye (a little bit goes a long way). Mixed the mold care 2:1 and using a back pack sprayer I treated the inside of all basement exterior walls that were next to cement from floor to ceiling (as well as cement walls) - and all interior walls with plumbing floor to ceiling; and all other interior walls 2' up from cement floor. Had enough product for the entire job. Next I mixed straight Bora Care 1:1. Treated all main-floor walls and sheathing 2' up from floor. Had about a gallon left, so I went back to the basement and treated the spaces between floor joists that sit on top of the cement walls. I had just enough product left to spray the exterior of cement walls and some of the down stairs walls that looked like they might need a 1:1 instead of a 2:1 mixture. Be aware that the mold care product has tendency to foam up when mixing. Straight bora-care did not foam up as much as the mold care product. I completed the project by distributing a boric acid powder (hot shot maxx attrax) along the interior of all stud walls, interior and exterior ensuring to caulk at bottom of all stud wall plates. Did the boric acid due to presence of scorpions and carpenter ants in the woods where I'm building. A week later, I've noticed dead bugs all along the floor where they've crawled inside. I'm very pleased with the product.

If your familiar with the product it does what it says. Used it on large restoration home. Killed all insects it came into contact with. Time will only tell if it will resist termites. Use this product anytime walls are open after insulation has been removed. It arrived in a few days. No hassle no headache.

Termites w fungascide treats

So I had a shed that developed a mold smell and you could see a very lite mold on some items. So I really could store anything in there, plus I had a lot of termites by seeing all the droppings. So I bought the product, I did 1 treatment and I can't say if termites are dead or going to die yet, however I can say that the fungas and the smell are gone. I put blowers in there after a day or two as I had some areas that there was litle to no air movement. After everything drying, I decided to paint shed so I can see all the hidden spiders. Let's hope the termite stuff does it's job to make it last longer

Easy to apply but needs a 6 gallon bucket to mix...or (2) 5-gallon buckets. Used this in the crawlspace to kill mold and seal it once and for all. Creates a clear shield over the wood / concrete. At certain angles, you can see a sparkle from the shield after it dries. Would definitely buy again on next house or use on new construction.

Had to totally gut my Den down to the studs after extensive roof damage from hurricane Sally. Had three large areas with mold growth. After removing all the dry wall and insulation then spraying all the base plates , studs, and ceiling rafters twice and waiting a week all the mold was gone. Hopefully the bug and fungus control works as well, time will tell. After spraying this product as directed I have confidence now to move forward with installing the new insulation and Sheetrock.

Great for new construction. Another excellent protection for termites, powder post beatles, and the additive for mold. Use with a dye that's used fir lawns. It will show you where you've already sprayed. The dye is water soluable in case you get it on something such as your clothes or concrete. Expensive but it makes up to 6 gallons depending on the strength you need. No smell either.

Bora-Care by Nisus with Mold-Care

Used to buy directly from Nisus corp in FL. NOW i can buy elsewhere. I did my research, and found "DoMyOwn" where i can buy other products for home improvements. Bora-Care is a Borac product that eliminates termites, wood-boring beatles for up to 30-40 yrs, when either injected into the main beams of house, and/or sprayed on new wood (wood without paint). Whenever i have something rebuilt or built - i spray it with Bora-Care to protect the wood also from any damage of wood-rot. The product i just purchased, Bora-Care with Mold-Care, protects wood from everything above as well as mildew and mold. Then paint if you wish. My privacy wall in back yard, before i paint, will spray with this product and protect it from any damage now and for the next 20-30 yrs/under paint that i bought also has mold/mildew protection. Bought my home in 1991, injected the main beams in attic with boracare/injectacare - and also injected in the beams protruding from back of house - and inside house. PROTECTING house from insects that would otherwise harm. Insurance companies, some, will give you % off ins. because of this protection. THANKS to DoMyOwn i can purchase these products from them in timely shipping, in spite of anything else in world going on. THANKS TO DoMyOwn my home is free of BUGS/INSECTS and protected for its life.

I'm not sure exactly how to rate this product based on performance because it was used purely as a preventative. However, it was very easy to use and pleasant-smelling. I was comfortable with the Boracare component, as it was specified on one of our construction projects.

I won't know for a long time how well the product itself works, but it was recommended to me from personal sources as well as a renovation blog I follow and trust, so I'm assuming it's good. My review therefore centers on the customer service I got. For a variety of reasons (including a mistake I made initially mixing up the street number), there were problems getting my orders delivered. I wrote to the company and was surprised to get a real person (or extraordinarily good bot! Lol) who really took ownership of the problem and followed through all the way until the problems were resolved. I was very grateful for that.
