Can Acclaim Extra be applied to flower field to control Johnson Grass?

I plant Cosmos, Zinnias and Sunflowers in open field for people to enjoy while driving by for past few years. I have treated with 2,4D and RoundUp before planting area. Johnson Grass has invaded area and has overtaken it. Grass is taller than the flowers. Can I use Acclaim? Field is located in Central Ohio.

Answer:

Acclaim Extra Herbicide is labeled for use around Cosmos and Zinnias, but it is not labeled safe for use around Sunflowers. Please be sure to review the product label for more information and complete application instructions. A product such as Grass Out Max along with a Non Ionic Surfactant would be another option to control grassy weeds around flowers and ornamentals.
