When using Peters Professional 20-20-20 General Purpose Fertilizer for plants like flower beds, you can use 1 tsp per 1 gallon of water and apply using a watering can or sprayer. As long as you are not mixing the product too strongly, then it should not burn the plants you are treating. You do not need to wet the plants first before you fertilize.
