Can I kill Pharaoh ants with insect growth regulator?

We recently moved into a newly renovated apartment. A few days later, we noticed some very tiny ants climbing the wall in a line by the entrance door. They appear to be Pharaoh Ants. After reading up on their behaviour, I think the answer is insect growth regulator. Can I use the kind you sell for cockroaches on these little critters?

Answer:

You can use Nyguard IGR to help control the breeding cycle but it will not kill the ants. IGR's control the growth of juvenile ants and help stop reproduction but will not actually kill anything. You can choose to use Phantom in combination with the Nyguard as it will also track back to the nest and actually kill ants.
