NyGuard IGR gets to the root cause of chronic insect infestations - the eggs, larvae or nymphs - and prevents them from maturing into reproductive adults thereby controlling future infestations. NyGuard IGR will cause morphological anomalies or changes and disrupt the expected insects' state of development, leading to sterility or death. When adults are present, NyGuard is commonly used in combination with a non-IGR insecticide. This method results in rapid eradication of adults and deposits a base level of NyGuard IGR. Since this product has a long residual, it remains in place for up to seven (7) months to actively disrupt the development of any immature stages that have yet to appear, or which were not susceptible to the insecticide product used to control adult insects.
- NyGuard IGR has the broadest spectrum of insects on its label.
- NyGuard IGR is 10 times more active than Gentrol.
- NyGuard IGR is effective both indoors and outdoors.
- NyGuard IGR may be used in food and non-food areas.
- NyGuard IGR keeps working for seven months.
Apply NyGuard as a diluted spray or ULV/fogger to prevent eggs, larvae and nymphs from maturing into reproductive adults. Apply NyGuard in combination with a non-IGR adulticide to knockdown and kill existing adult populations while breaking the cycle of your toughest insect pests.

Sprayed for fleas got prehatched mosquito's
By Norma in St. Augustine, Florida on 07/10/2012
We used a combination of Nyguard and Talstar 1 early in June. We got an immediate kill on fleas, and other nasty bugs outside, but I wasn't expecting the destruction of the majority of the Mosquito eggs. I have lived in this house in Florida for 21 years. For 21 years I had to stay inside much of the time, at dusk especially but also all day and all night because our area had so many mosquitos. A lot didn't seem to be stopped by repellants either. We had a long dry spell and then about a week and a half after we sprayed, it begain to rain some every day, then it rained all day for several days. We needed it badly but I wasn't looking forward to being swarmed by mosquitos. I was astonished! We have had very few even at dusk, and those who managed to hatch are strange. They fly slow enough so that I can kill them before they ever land. It is like they are can't navigate normally. This is the first summer I have not gotten even one bite. I have been able to enjoy the outside again for the first time ever at this house. I reordered the same items and intend to spray one more time before the month of July is over. Just some advice to those who have houses that back up to woods, we sprayed the wooded area as well as the yard. We sprayed our neighbors yard and the small wooded area behind her house. A lot of mosquitos breed under damp leaves that pile up on the ground here in Florida. Well not anymore at may house! We even sprayed across the road in the brush. Good thing too, because they discovered the mosquitos were carrying West Nile Virus in our area. Best thing I ever did in the rhelm of insect control!

I am blown away!
By John in Baxter, Tennessee on 07/31/2012
This is the very best pest control I have ever used! I had an issue with fleas in my dog pen. I could not get them killed out for nothing until I was told about NyGuard. I used every product I could think of and spent a small fortune! A flea or two would attach itself to me when I would clean my dog pen, and next thing I knew is they were in my house too! NOT ANYMORE! This NyGuard mixed with Demize, totally killed out the fleas...inside and out in 24hrs! And they stayed gone. Now I don't even need flea collars for my dogs! Thanks for such a great product. Send me a hat or something so I can advertise for you, because your product is the best on the market...hands down! I am going to purchase more of this product so I never run out. I NEVER toot someones horn unless they deserve it...and NyGuard deserves it! So, TOOT TOOT!

A true KNOCKOUT
By David on 09/15/2011
After fleas had set up house in ours we attempted to get rid of them in the usual manners (fogging and flea powder). We got desperate and were about to burn down the house (not really) and then I found this site. What a life, and house, saver. Less than 2 hours after application the fleas stopped biting and we have never had a problem since. I use it on my balcony for season long wasp and spider control and swear by it. You can't miss when you pick this product.

This Product Works!!!!
By Marianne in Roswell, GA on 06/07/2011
I purchased this product as a safer product to control indoor and outdoor insects (mosquitoes, fleas, flies, roaches, ants, etc....). Nothing bothers me inside or outside after 3 months!!! It's a little slow to start, but once you get it applied around your house and inside your house, your problems are over!!! I had continual repeat flea issues from my Welsh Corgi. I treated the inside of the house and also treated the outside areas where she laid. NO MORE FLEAS!!!! And it does wonders in keeping mosquitoes under control, too!!!!

The person who was talking about how her cats still have fleas weeks later does not know how this product works. It stops the next generation from growing into viable adults. If you have fleas, you have to do a multi-angled approach and not just spray & pray. Seriously, if you don't know what you're doing. Don't buy the product. I've used this for years on all sorts of issues and it's as close to a magic wand as you're gonna get.

I love it works great so far no more fleas. Will continue to buy from this company
Seems to work well...
By Pete in Phoenix, AZ on 12/20/2017
I did a pre-treatment Ny-Gard/Conquer for fleas and ticks on a previously infected backyard about three weeks prior to bringing a dog to the house. Two weeks after the dogs arrival I have not had any incidents. In fact I have not seen any other bug; and the annoying house flies diminished in number. I decided to cancel with my pest control company and try this formula out for a while. The items arrived quickly, the website has a lot of information. Highly recommend this combination.

This product worked exactly as instructed. We made sure to bathe dogs, flea treated them with topical and the pill. Then we sprayed the entire house down. Then came the vacuuming. We vacuumed 3-4 times a day for almost 2 weeks. After the first couple days there were no more adult large fleas. Then we just had small ones. And finally no more. We made sure to bathe the dogs once a week and continue to treat them. *When emptying your vacuum make sure you double bag your dirt! We learned this after the fleas were coming back to get us from the outdoor trash can! It took nearly 2 weeks to be flea free. We spent quite a bit of money on flea bombs, carpet powders, and carpet sprays. I wish I found Nyguard sooner.

The off brand flea medicine I bought for my pets did not work and I had a major flea issue in the house. This product took care of it. I did initial spray then about a week later did it again and no more lfea issues

Great for fleas, not so great for German roaches
By Brian in Fredericksburg Texas on 09/02/2017
Although not any longer, I have been in the pest control industry for 18 years both as an applicator and an owner. I have seen my share of bad infestations of every type of insect Texas has to offer. My neighbor had what I would call a moderate infestation of German Roaches and I used the required dosage of nyguard in my B&G along with Demand (CS), had my neighbor remove everything from his Kitchen, pull the fridge out, and the oven as well bc the kitchen was the main source of the problem. I methodically treated the kitchen area along with all the rest of his home and it has been over 2 months since I first treated it and one month since I treated it a second time and I gotta tell you, I'm not seeing much of a change. I'm going to give this a bit longer to show me some progress, otherwise I just assume attacking them using the max force products I've always used in the past.

This product has been wonderful on the roach problem I have had in my house. This Mixed with Bifen IT has almost gotten rid of all the bugs. I expect one more spraying next month will get rid of the all. I love it. Thank you DoMyOwn for being here for me!!

Two new kittens spread fleas thru the house before we realized it. Been using the Nyguard IGR mixed with Onslaught to spray our carpets once a week. After two applications it knocked them back pretty good. Just did a third application after a flea jumped on me from our basement. Must spray all the areas each time then give the cats a CAP Guard pill. Hopefully the third time is a charm.

QWhat is the mixing ratio for fleas, in a 2 gal. sprayer, Talstar P and Nyguard IGR?
what is the mixing ratio in a 2 gal sprayer for fleas mainly(roaches, centipedes, spiders(black widow, cane spider) problem using Talstar P and Nyguard IGR? I dont understand the mixing instructions on Nyguard IGR. Please help.
A If you want to mix up two gallons of Talstar/Nyguard you will need to add 2 fl oz of Talstar and 6ml of Nyguard in 2 gallons of water and you will need to spray this over a 2,000 sq ft area. Please note that Talstar cannot be broadcast sprayed over carpets and furniture indoors.

QIs Nyguard better or just more concentrated than Archer IGR? I see they have the same active ingredient.
Which, in your opinion is more a effective IGR?
AArcher Igr and Nyguard Igr are both very effective IGRs. The biggest differences between the two is the ability to hold up to sunlight outdoors. Archer is photostable for 14 days where as the NyGuard is photostable for 4-6 months. NyGuard also has a wider range of pests that are covered by its ability to sterilize and inhibit the reproductive cycles.

QI'm using Onslaught to control ticks. I'm thinking I should add an IGR. Is NyGuard IGR a good choice?
Onslaught's Technical Bulletin recommends NyGuard IGR for a tank mix IGR, but NyGuard's label doesn't list ticks.
ANyguard IGR does indeed list ticks on the product and Nyguard IGR would be a great choice for tick control when mixed with Onslaught.
QHow often can I spray Onslaught and Nyguard IGR together for bird mites?
I'm thinking about ordering Onslaught to combine with NyGuard for a bird mite infestation. I realize that NyGuard isn't approved for bird mites, but I've heard success from others with this problem. I'm wondering how often this combination be used? Also, I've already used the Precor IGR, and I'm worried about using another IGR on top of it. Thanks for your response.
AWe have had several customers tell us that they have successfully used Onslaught and NyGuard together for bird mite control. Unfortunately because neither product is actually labeled for bird mites, we can not give you a definitive re-treatment time. We can say that both products do allow re-treatments after 14 days if you see renewed insect activity indoors. There should be no problem using NyGuard IGR in a home where you have previously used Precor IGR.
QIs NyGuard IGR safe to use in a vegetable garden?
It looks like that is where the fleas have made there home. If not, what can be used to treat the soil in an edible garden?
QDoes Nyguard IGR contain oil? Will it stain?

QDoes NyGuard IGR lose efficacy and potency once opened?
I may not use the whole bottle this year so I'm wondering if product will be just as effective if it stores on my basement shelf until I may need to use it again.
A NyGuard IGR†has a shelf life of 3 years if kept out of extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.

QCan you mix Nyguard IGR with Lysol concentrate?
We use this as a spray for mites and it's the only thing that works.
A NyGuard IGR†should not be mixed with any household cleaners including Lysol. Please clean per directions on the cleaning product label and allow to dry prior to applying the product for insect control.

QWill Nyguard IGR help with my flea infestation?
Flea infestation ongoing for three years have sprayed with Malathion still got fleas. Area is damp lots of vegetation and leaves, will your IGR work here and how much will I need?
A Nyguard IGR is labeled to stop the life cycle of fleas indoors and outdoors. It can be added to an insecticide and applied at the same time. The mixing rate is 3-4 ml per gallon of water. †Malathion is not specifically labeled for fleas so we are unable to provide advice on that.† Please check out our Flea Guide for tips on how to treat for fleas.†

QIs there a difference between NyGuard IGR vs Precor vs Gentrol in terms of effectiveness?
I'm using it for indoors only for mostly roaches.
A Precor IGR is only labeled for fleas. Gentrol IGR has a more broad label and will stop the life cycle of various insects, including roaches and stored product pests. Gentrol has a unique movement to it which makes is extremely effective for listed insects.†This is mixed with an adulticide and applied for roaches. QWhat insecticide do I use with NyGuard IGR for fleas?
So we have a flea infestation in and outside the house. So I would need this to hold up in the sun as well as be safe to use in the home. We have carpet and tile in our home.
