Can I mix Tengard SFR Termiticide Insecticide with stain to spray on my cedar fence for areas where there are termite damage?

Fence has been pressure washed. I am wanting to stain the fence and then treat with Tengard SFR but want to know if I can mix the stain and the insecticide for one application.

Answer:

No, Tengard SFR Termiticide Insecticide is not labeled to be mixed with stains or paints. It can only be mixed with pyrethrin based insecticides or insect growth regulators. We would recommend to stain the fence first and after it has dried, then you can treat with Tengard SFR. BoraCare would be a better option for long term protection against wood destroying insects such as termites. Boracare will absorbs completely throughout the wood and once the BoraCare application has been sealed with a paint, stain or water sealant: this will last the entire life of the wood.  Please view the BoraCare product label for more information.
