Can Pendulum 2G Granular Herbicide be applied if I am reseeding now in September and then again in spring if necessary or should I wait until the new fescue seed is established?

Our fescue got demolished by armyworms and 80% of the lawn is brown.

Answer:

Pendulum 2G Granular Herbicide will inhibit grass seed germination therefore should be applied at the same time as planting new grass seed or overseeding. This pre emergent should only be used on well-established turf grass with a dense and uniform stand. Per the product label, when applying on newly planted areas, application should not be made until the turf grass has filled in and has been mowed at least four times. On turf that has been thinned or damaged due to winter injury, excessive moisture, etc., allow for turf recovery prior to making an application. Delay reseeding or winter overseeding of treated turf grass for at least 3 months following the last Pendulum 2G application.
