The Chapin 81008A 80-Pound Sale and Ice Melt Spreader is really made for coarser materials rather than top dressing or mulch. You could potentially use a drop spreader or broadcast spreader that is made for granules, or you can simply pour the bags out and use a rake to disperse it.
