Can I use Bayer Advanced 12 Month Tree and Shrub Protect and Feed II Granules to treat Giant Timer Bamboo for mealybugs?

Almost impossible to add up all the distances around all the different size from very small to large and add together to do the equation. Mealybugs are causing problems. Any opinions on what to do?

Answer:

Since the Bayer Advanced 12 Month Tree and Shrub Protect and Feed is not labeled for use on grasses or on bamboo, we do not suggest using this product for your application. This product is really designed for trees, shrubs, and listed containerized plants. We are not sure that bamboo would really take up systemic products since we do not know of any that are labeled for this application. You can use a pyrethroid product such as Talstar P as a topical spray. You could rotate that with an oil product like Triple Action.
