I have a bad mosquito problem which I think is coming from my French drain system underneath my backyard concrete patio. There are 6 inlets, and it really seems that the problem is coming from the inlets. I have sprayed the rest of the areas with backyard control products that is supposed to last for a few months, and also have a mosquito misting system. The only pesky area is righty at our feet and it drives us crazy! I've used a little bleach in the drain inlets because someone told me that would help... Only worked for a few hours. The drains are those black plastic ribbed type and I'm pretty sure they nearly always have a little standing water in them due to the ribs. What's the best solution? Would crushed up BTI donuts work if I poured a few gallons of water after insertion to have it spread out down the pipes?
BTI Mosquito Dunks will be a great choice to apply in french drains for mosquitos. We recommend using Bifen IT and Pivot 10 on the exterior of the home as well as other non-chemical methods for eradication. I have included some great articles below that you might find extremely helpful! Mosquito Articles
