Yes, you can use a hose-end sprayer or any backpack sprayer to apply Dimension 2EW. The first thing you need to know when using an herbicide such as Dimension 2EW is that the exact amount of water you dilute it with is not important. It is only important to make sure you are using the correct amount of product per 1,000 sq ft of area and this will depend on your grass type and program you are using to apply. The amount of water is dependent on however much water it takes for you to walk 1,000 square feet. Whether you place the amount of product per 1000 square feet in a gallon of water or 10 gallons of water, it does not matter, just as long as that amount of product is distributed over 1,000 square feet. Please refer to the product label for complete instructions. To decide how much water you want to use, you should mark a 1,000 sq ft area, fill your hand pump sprayer (we generally do not recommend you use a hose-end sprayer for this application) with water ONLY, and moving and spraying just as if you were doing the actual application of herbicide. When you are done walking and spraying the 1,000 sq ft area note how much water it took you to spray that area, and that is the amount you will want to mix per 1,000 sq ft.
