I've treated the perimeter of my home using Taurus SC as a prevention against termites and ants but recently noticed an invasion of millepedes throughout my yard, with some making their way into my home -- it doesn't seem all that effective on millipedes. Is there a recommended approach to using Taurus SC to treat our mulch beds (suspected source)?
Taurus SC is labeled to kill millipedes, if you have already sprayed the perimeter of your home some can make it into the home but will eventually die, most insects die within 72 hours of contact with an insecticide. Millipedes do like cool, damp places to live so you can find them under stones, leaf mold, compost, grass clippings and mulch. Unfortunately, Taurus SC is only labeled to be used around the perimeter of your home and no further than 1 foot out from the foundation. If you want to treat further out than that into your yard and mulched areas, you can turn the mulch from time to time and use something like Talstar P every 30 days or Suspend Polyzone would also work and can hold up to 90 days outdoors.
