Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide is not labeled to control privet so would not be recommended.  It is only for control of  Woody plants listed on the label: ailanthus, alder, aspen, birch, cedar, cherry, dogwood, elm, firs, green ash, gum, hawthorn, hickory, hornbeam, maples, oaks, pecan, persimmon, serviceberry, sourwood and sweetbay
