Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide is effective in killing over 20 different woody species and preventing sprouting of cut trees in non-crop areas like forests, right-of-ways, roadsides, and fence rows. Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide is a ready-to-use (RTU) product that requires no measuring or mixing and is simple to use. Simply put it into a spray bottle and spray. Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide makes it easy to see where you have been with a convenient blue dye that marks each stump or tree you spray.
Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide works by translocating through the tree and into the root system to prevent resprouts. The no freeze formulation makes working in cold weather easy.
Tordon RTU should not be applied on residential or commercial lawns or near desirable trees and shrubs.

Tordon RTU should not be applied on residential or commercial lawns or near ornamental trees and shrubs. Untreated trees can occasionally be affected by root uptake of herbicide through movement into the topsoil or by excretion of the product from the roots of nearby treated trees. Do not apply Tordon RTU within the root zone of desirable trees unless such injury can be tolerated.
Do not contaminate cropland, water, or irrigation ditches.

Residual long term collateral damage
By Tothetune on 04/02/2019
Applied to sissoo stump 8/2014, trees 15 feet away still showing signs of damage 4 1/2 years later. Hot climate (AZ) did not help it degrade evidently. Would never use again. Have used roundup concentrate on stumps without issue.

Tordon Herbicide
By Jenny on 10/25/2019
I have been fighting elm tree seedlings for years. I discovered this product and am very pleased with the effective termination of unwanted trees. It was so effective that I ordered more! I vigilantly wear latex gloves to apply and with the dispenser cap provided, it is easy to pour directly onto the growth ring of a fresh cut tree. My only problem is finding a good chain saw person to follow around my properties to really get them all!!!

Rain is forecast in 4 hours. Is that long enough to be on the plant?
When using any herbicide like Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide you need to give the product ample time to dry and become rainfast after application. Depending on weather conditions we suggest giving the product anywhere from 2-4 hours to fully dry. If rain is in the forecast within the next 4 hours we would suggest waiting for drier conditions.

I realize immediately is preferable but I'm following loggers and can't do it the day of cutting or day after due to weather.
Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide would be best applied as close to cutting the stump as possible, but you can do it the next day if needed. You just want to be sure it is applied to a fresh cut stump, not one that has been cut weeks prior.

To be able to get the best out of your Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide, be sure to store it in a cool dry place and not where it can become frozen or too heated, otherwise the product's efficacy may become compromised. As far as application goes, we do not recommend applying Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide, or any herbicide, when temperatures are below 55 degrees.
