Product Overview

The Catchmaster BDS (Bedbug Detection System) is a patented device designed to detect bed bugs. BDS is a passive monitoring device that provides what would be considered a perfect harborage area for bed bugs - a place they prefer to hide and breed. Bedbugs favor tight, dark spaces and textured surfaces. This is why they tend to hide in cracks and crevices of wooden furniture or in the creases of mattresses. Bedbugs also like the small grooves in corrugated boxes. The Catchmaster BDS trap recreates these favorable conditions using a unique patented adhesive pattern that is coated on a coarse cardboard surface that bed bugs love. The combination offers bedbugs an ideal place to hide. Once bed bugs enter a BDS trap, they get stuck on the glue adhesive inside.

Catchmaster BDS traps can be used in infested or non-infested rooms for bed bug detection. They can help you determine if bed bugs have infested a new room, or if your treatment of an existing infestation is working. If you continue to see bed bugs caught in the BDS, then you need to continue treatment until the bed bugs are eradicated.

Please note that the Catchmaster BDS should be used along with other treatment methods and cannot be used as 100% proof that a room is bed bug free.

Details

Is BDS Foolproof?- A “negative” reading on a BDS monitor (meaning you haven't caught anything for several weeks) does not necessarily guarantee that there are no bedbugs. BDS is designed to be ONE PART of your strategy to combat and manage bedbugs. It can provide you with valuable information, such as where bedbugs may be harboring, and it can help confirm beyond any doubt that bedbugs are present.

MONITOR SIZE: 1.81” x 6.25” (4.60cm x 15.90cm) PACKED: 6 placements per sheet, 12 sheets per box.

Each monitor has an adhesive backing which allows you to mount the trap on almost any surface, such as the back of a picture frame.

Where to place Catchmaster BDS:

Catchmaster BDS can be placed behind headboards, on bedposts and and along bed frames, between the mattress and boxspring, in vents, behind wall hangings (such as the backs of picture frames), between or under couch cushions, under furniture stands, on the backs of drawers in nightstands, etc.

Didnt catch Any bugs in detection system

I can not recommend this product. I think you are better off buying a bottle of Phantom Termicide/Insecticide or four bottles of Bedlman instead of spenging the $64 on this product. I have been battling bed bugs for two months. I set out these traps around my bed and couch. I have not seen any bugs in the traps. I am still receiving bites so I know they are biting me. I just thought they would help me narrow down where they are coming from, they did not. I ended up just throwing them away. I just don't think they are worth the money.

Questions & Answers

Have a question about this product?

Q
How long do the Catchmaster Bedbug Detection System (BDS) boards last?
A
The Catchmaster Bedbug Detection System (BDS) boards will last indefinitely. Environmental factors will be the main reason they will need to be changed. If they are filled with insects and the glue cannot be contacted by new insects, the board should be changed. If the glue gets very dusty or wet and is no longer sticky, the boards should be changed.

Q
What is the chemical difference between regular insect glue boards and the bed bug glue board?
A
There is no pheromone attractant or special chemical in the Catchmaster Bedbug Detection System glue boards that make it different from other glue boards. The difference is in the design of the trap. This is a passive monitoring device that provides what would be considered a perfect harborage area for bed bugs - a place they prefer to hide and breed. Bedbugs favor tight, dark spaces and textured surfaces. This is why they tend to hide in cracks and crevices of wooden furniture or in the creases of mattresses.
